I hope he's not suffering from the same medical condition as Ashley Manning. That shit is serious.

I was mentioning this weirdness in the office and every response was some variation on "too much cocaine?" (I live in Oregon)

edit: like an allergic reaction... to cocaine! But really, does he live right by the police station? Why would he go there?
I wouldn't call it an allergy, but some people can suffer severe medical consequences from ingesting/using even small amounts of cocaine.

Still not sure why police would have to go "secure the residence" for a minor health scare.
yup, that's the issue. it could just be that he left the house in such a hurry that he left the door open ... but, again, until it's cleared up, it lingers

I'm always curious about this kind of thing as it relates to HIPAA. I've only tangentially worked in the healthcare field but it's a massive no-no to even disclose an individual's name so it makes me chuckle every time we get instant and highly specific updates on an athlete's condition. I know it's understood that an athlete's injury basically falls under employment record or something like that, making it open, but I believe there are grey areas (the release of JPP's medical records, for example).

If I lived a block away from a police station and far from a hospital, I would go there for a medical emergency as well. That doesn't seem particularly odd.

I believe the CBA (or a separate agreement) enables the league to release certain categories of information on player health ("torn ACL" or "pulled hammy"). Note that other categories of non-competitive injuries (such as what happened to Armond Armstead) are not disclosed with any specificity at all.

Don't much about Foxborough other than stadium area. As a fairly small town, seemingly without a decent sized hospital(guessing Norwood is the closest one?) does the Foxbourough PD commonly serve a semi-paramedic, first responders to a medical emergency role? If so, and since he lives so close to the station, maybe not as odd as it definitely seems on first look.

Rumor about this has been out there for almost two days not:

Means nothing, very well might be made up, just saying it's out there.

I realize you're just passing along a rumor. So, just to analyze a bit, does this in any way help us guess why Jones would have gone to the police rather than the hospital? Seems difficult to understand that part regardless of whose house he may (or more likely may not) have been in

Not that I have any idea whether this rumor is accurate or completely unfounded, but it is possible he hung out with a young cancer patient early and then got into trouble late, right?

The Jones story and the Gronk story are both very odd, it's tempting to try and tie them together with some kind of explanation, I guess. Hopefully someone made this up.

Which is why bullshit "sources" such as this should be ignored and anyone who posts them should be ashamed

It's absolutely clear to me that Jones suffered from an overdose of heroine while partying at Gronk's house where he turned down his offer to share LSD. Gronkowski then dropped Chandler outside his house, the one near the Police Station. When Chandler came to in the morning he stumbled to the Police Station in a groggy and frostbitten state, without recalling whether or not he'd let his dog out for a walk. The Police removed the needle still hanging from his forearm and, at Chandler's insistence, went to his house to secure the dog and found 24 kg of marijuana along with 41 grams of cocaine. Back at the station, police called a specialist "doctor" to revive, then clean up, Chandler. When fully awake, Chandler instructed the police to go clean up Gronk's house where he said "some kid left a bunch of needles and tubes...something to do with chemotherapy..."

Due to the upcoming playoff game, police were happy to assist and scrubbed clean Chandler's house, Gronkowski's house and their police records. Left unexplained was the needle dropped by Chandler in the police parking lot...a needle suspiciously similar to those used to inflate footballs. Police called an expert from NH who verified the needle's purpose and the Mass State Police crime lab has been called in - although this is being kept a secret.

I got all of this from Pigskin Snitch's follow up tweets, which my robot in Lithuania picks up and re-directs.

Maybe beecause it was broadcast on the police band radio that he was being transported to the hospital, so not home (for snoops and looters to plunder)? Remember Brady got robbed when he lived at Marina Bay in Quincy.

The really simple explanation would be that he was rushed out of the house and he or someone with him remembered that they left the door open.

That is just the flunky producer not really the show, that guy sucks and putting this out there sucks. There is no chance he has any "sources" on this.

First reaction: This makes no sense. Isn't it Jones who lived near the PD, not Gronkowski?

Second reaction: Fuck, this isn't going to end well.

I can't stand that producer but just because Gronk wasn't there doesn't mean Jones Wasn't at his house. They supposedly are close. It would be unbelievably irresponsponsible if he was not 100% on it.
It's not a journalist with a track record---it's the producer of a crappy radio show with declining ratings looking for oxygen. Not sure why we would assume it's any more credible than some random poster here with 'inside sources'

Just play devil's advocate, but Chris Curtis's report just says it happened at Gronk's house, not that Gronk was involved. Does Gronk live with his brother(s) and friends? Or has he moved on from that?

edit: still doesn't make sense why they'd then go secure Jones's residence.

Could Jones practice on Monday if he ODed on Sunday? None of this does make sense, there is a lot of smoke, but I'm not buying it all.

Gronk has a house off north street in foxboro right around the corner from the stadium in a new development.

There's literally no smoke. There's a story in the Herald, and a bunch of people goofing around

I'm worried that Ted Wells is going to amend his report that Brady was generally aware that Jones was going to the party/violating NFL substance policy. Probably plenty of texts between them to support Goodell's findings.

There is SOME smoke. There is an awkward acknowledgment by the Foxboro PD that they interacted with Jones and then sent him off to the hospital late at night. There is no explanation from Jones or the Patriots about what the issue was. There is Gronk missing practice today.

I mean, there could be a totally innocent explanation for all of it (there probably is). But some odd things have occurred. I'd feel more sure the rumor was nonsense if it wasn't Tweeted out a day before the Herald story was public.
