Public disclosure laws are a really good thing. But (and this is not my area of expertise) it really feels like for the most part they are used for salacious stories because the stuff for which we, as a nation, really could use some actual transparency all can be shielded with various exceptions.

So with information we have now, most likely scenarios:

Jones- Bad ambien reaction puts him in "zombie" state where he walks through Walgreens. Picked up by cops and sent to the hospital with no charges for anything. Wakes up, feels fine and is released.

Gronk- In Florida so has nothing to do with Jones' bad trip. Given maintenance day for full pads practice as a precaution coincidentally as this all comes out.

Belichick- motorboating accident (?)

That sound about right?
I could see a black-eye occurring from motor boating here for sure

FWIW, a close friend of mine works for an agent. I asked him what he has heard, and he said laced weed, and no suspension, but Jones will end up in the drug program. If the dispatcher talking about a class D substance is true, this would seem to be a possible answer.

Gasper:
Patriots defensive lineman Chandler Jones had a bad reaction to a substance he put into his body on Sunday, a source familiar with the situation told the Globe.

The source was adamant that Jones did not overdose on a drug such as cocaine or heroin. The source said Jones lives near the Foxborough police station, and he walked there to seek help after he had the bad reaction.

The source added that Jones was at the Patriots facility lifting weights at 6:30 .am. Monday.

Laced weed always makes me laugh. Weed isn't ever just randomly "laced". If it's laced the smoker laced it. What would be the benefit of a dealer spending money to secretly lace the weed he sells with other drugs? I'm convinced the urban legend of "laced" weed is perpetuated by people that got so fucking high they're convinced it was more than just weed.

Back in my stoner days a group of us were at the hemp fest at Boston Common. We ran out of our own stuff, and bought hydro of a midget playing bongos. We all started hallucinating, one friend decided to lay down on the red line floor... During rush hour. It is very real

Maybe, but it still sounds like an Ambien thing to me. Was taking Ambien for a while until one morning I woke up and there was a pile of corn flakes next to my bed. I turned to my wife and asked her if she knew how this had come to pass. She said she was awakened in the middle of the night to the sight of me mindlessly stuffing corn flakes into my mouth at a rapid rate. She said "Are you OK?" and I said "Yeh, yeh, yeh etc" about fifty times.

I have absolutely no recollection of it happening and it scared the shit out of me. Never again has Ambien entered the household.

But my final point is that it is such a readily "accepted" drug that getting one from a friend, for example, is pretty common practice, I would think.
