Not exactly sure where to put this but Wat Misaka, who was the son of Japanese immigrants and the man who broke pro basketball's color barrier died at age 95. After graduating from University of Utah (NIT and NCAA championships), he joined the Knicks in 1947. They were part of the Basketball Association of America (precursor to the NBA). Wataru Misaka, at 5'7", scored just two points in his first appearance and was cut after two more games but was allowed to keep his size 7 Converse high-tops (too small for any of the other players) and turned down an offer to play with the Globetrotters so he could finish his engineering degree. He eventually was inducted into the Japanese American National Bowling Hall of Fame.
