the fact that this team is based in the situs of the attack gives the statement and fine some additional resonance, not that any was needed.
Also the fact that he compared it to BLM when he’s leading a locker room of majority black Americans.

So what? The only question is whether he was forced to sign onto it. I don't think he was. Do you?
Maybe.

It's a tough situation. The fact Rivera didn't fire his ass leads me to believe his hands were tied. At this point, Del Rio won't be able to lead water down a drain among 3/4 of his defense (@djbayko just beat me to it....) and either Rivera knows it and can't do anything, or honestly believes it was 'just a slip' which means he's blind deaf and dumb about the concerns of the majority of his team, which I don't think is true. YMMV.

If you look at Rio's twitter, it was most certainly not a slip.

Yeah, he’s a complete fucking dunder-shit. That he was fined a not insignificant amount of money, and called out publicly, in fairly strong terms, is frankly much more than I expected from this franchise. Whoever wrote it and/or signed off on it.

I missed whatever he had on there and now he’s deactivated or deleted his Twitter account.

By sheer coincidence I flipped through Del Rio’s tweets the day before his “dust up” comment. It was exactly what one might expect — he’s a “man of God” who also is a diehard Trumper who indulges in all the requisite conspiracy theories, Tucker-isms, Antifa-blaming, etc. It’d surprise exactly no one if he owns a boat with a giant Q flag flying from it.

He’s entitled to believe what he wants - because that’s still America - but he’s a raging chump.

I agree that his hands were probably tied for firing purposes.
I guess I don't see a problem using the PR staff of presumably professional writers to craft/draft. It's a pretty strong statement, so it may have come down to, "we'll help you say whatever you want, but you can't fire him and you can't be mean to Danny Boy."

In 2009, Snyder paid $1.6 million in hush money to quiet a sexual assault allegation.

An employee of Washington’s NFL team accused owner Daniel Snyder of sexually harassing and assaulting her in April 2009, three months before the team agreed to pay the woman $1.6 million as part of a confidential settlement, according to legal correspondence obtained by The Washington Post.

The woman accused Snyder of asking her for sex, groping her and attempting to remove her clothes, according to a letter sent by an attorney for the team to the woman’s lawyer in 2009. The woman alleged the assault occurred in a private, partitioned area at the back of one of the team’s private planes during a return flight from a work trip to Las Vegas.

I know that’s what the article says, but it’s kind of sloppy reporting.

Snyder’s lawyers didn’t refuse the subpoena. Rather, they declined to waive their right to in-person service and insisted that the committee use the US Marshalls to deliver the subpoena.

It’s a dick move that won’t help Snyder one bit. But, he can’t change his nature.

I await his claims of anti-Semitism.
Ugh, there was a while there where between Snyder, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Mark Zuckerberg, and Netanyahu I was hoping I could get control of our Jewish Space Laser and try to add an “O’” or “von” or “bin” before their last names or something to throw people off the scent.

NB I’m not 100% sure how our space laser works, will have to ask MTG next time I see her, although I don’t tend to attend the same white nationalist conferences these days?

You need to get in touch with Soros, at the last meeting of the Elders of Zion we gave him the space laser keys.

If there weren't pictures, I wouldn't have believed it.

Fast-forward to Sunday, when the Commanders offered coffee mugs with their team logo against a silhouette of Washington state. Of course, the Commanders represent the District of Columbia and play their home games in Maryland. The state of Washington lies about 2,500 miles west of the team’s footprint.
