Rondo's first non-apology was copied from Kobe Bryant's. It was so embarrassing that somebody's lawyer had to write an actual apology for Rondo:
Yesterday, I said that my words toward Bill Kennedy were unacceptable and did not reflect my feelings toward the LGBT community," Rondo said in a statement released by his team. "Some have interpreted my comments as a non-apology. I want to be clear, from the bottom of my heart that I am truly sorry for what I said to Bill. There is no place on or off the court for language that disrespects anyone's sexual orientation. That is not who I am or what I believe and I will strive every day to be a better person."

CBS Sports' Matt Moore calls it "a much better apology, even if it was likely not authored by Rondo but instead by a PR spokesperson in the organization. At least it acknowledges the severity of the situation and the importance of him actually apologizing."

Matt (and the rest of the CBS crew) are pretty on-the-ball about the whole "don't be horrible humans" thing. Their podcast that touched on this the other day was really good.

Also really good was Woj's new podcast--first guest was Adam Silver, and they talked for about twenty minutes about this thing.

California. Duh.
So, 19-23 and holding down the #8 spot in the conference halfway through the season. Considering the 1-7 start, not too bad.

Triple-double for Rondo tonight, and 24-15 for Boogie. 4th straight win.

It really wasn't a "bad" start even though the record was 1-7. Four of those losses were without Boogie and in the 1-3 start WITH Boogie included two tightly contested losses to a full strength Clipper team. I think I posted here somewhere just after that 1-7 start how impressed I was with this team if Boogie was healthy. He has shown to be a true difference maker despite his warts.
