Verizon plans

Just want to post this as a FYI in case anyone else is in the same boat.

I have an iPhone 5s on a Verizon "Share Everything" plan that has been getting more and more expensive. My single line went up from $107 a month to $137 this month for no apparent reason. 700 min, unlimited text, 2 gb. Ripoff.

I called Verizon to switch from a family share plan to an individual plan and the nice lady quoted me $90 bucks for unlimited talk and text plus 2gb. Better but I had seen a similar plan for 60 bucks online. When I asked about the 60 buck plan she looked around for a little bit until she found it. The only catch is I have to extend my contract for a year. Deal.

So a 5 minute phone call improved my plan and lowered the cost significantly. Anyone looking for a similar plan should make the call.

Good call.  I switched to a cheaper Verizon plan about 2 weeks ago.
 
I have an individual plan.
$60/month right now gets you unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 1GB of data.
 
I got a new phone at the same time, so I just had to lock into the standard 2-year contract.
I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (what a disappointment) to a Moto X.
Very happy with the Moto X so far.

You could get the same thing only with an extra half gig of data (2.5 high speed, then throttled, unlimited talk/Text) on the Verizon network for $45/month with no plan commitment through Straight Talk.

I don't think I could go to a prepaid plan because of the iPhone 5s. 2 year commitment to upgrade last October or whenever the phone was released.

And no, I'm not limited to 3G. I specifically made sure that I get to keep LTE.
