Pointing Pizzaro at our LB situation did a lot of the work and these awful substitutions have done the rest.

A little too much hero ball from Pulisic, Arriola was in acres of space. (That having been said, it was fabulous play to create the chance in the first place.)

Oooffff. Guardado saved one with his head, Moreno one with his face.

I’ve seen about 250 unique versions of this shot: a sad, exhausted Michael Bradley, out of focus in the background of a slo-mo replay, while the scorer for whatever country celebrates.

Ummm WTF. Miaza gets trucked - no call - and then some US gets a header and clear hand ball in the air by Mexico - no call .

That was a complete joke from a timekeeping standpoint, and the non-calls on fouls and handballs are nothing new, but still disappointing.

VAR to CONCACAF won't fix most of tonight's problems, but I'm ready for it.

Before the tournament, if you'd said we would advance to the final and lose a nail-biter to Mexico with at least even chances, I'd have taken it.

Some good signs, some concerns, Mexico outplayed them especially in the second half.

We need more players in defense and midfield who are comfortable on the ball.

Just a little bit of skill (or experience) away from taking it. I’m slightly encouraged. Can’t wait for the rest of the turnover to happen on this roster.

Bradley is done.
Been saying this for how many years now and yet he’s still playing every minute of every game. He’ll be there in qualifying and they’ll find a way to send him to Qatar.

Just does not have the pace anymore and he melted on the ball under any pressure tonight.

I worry less about Bradley and more about the finishing. Altidore creates that great chance then fluffed it. His bicycle attempt was never going to score but was woeful. Arriola squandered a lot including the chance he made picking Ochoa (this was maybe the hardest). Even Pulisic when he got 1 v 1 with the keeper was a wasted opportunity. If they want to play at the highest level with anything like their current talent level they’ll need to be clinical. I just don’t know where that is coming from right now

Edit: All that said, this was a positive tournament. They created enough to beat a weakened Mexico team and blooded a few players. It was progress

Bradley’s strengths were great work rate and vision / passing. It was great having a Beckerman or Jones cleaning up behind him.

His work rate has dropped and consequently he cant be in position to use his vision going forward.
The vision / anticipation has also diminished and so now we get more turnovers in our own half as well.
