Textbook CB play by Long. Really like him.

Much like Jamaica, USA started attacking and dominant and now are on their heels. Now Jam had that rain delay, but is there something else teams are figuring out?

Mystified how Tyler Boyd went from starter to “behind Roldan on the wing depth chart”.
I'm skeptical. Best theory I've seen on Twitter is that it allows Cannon to make more overlaps and covers more adventurous runs from McKennie. Not sure I believe that, but something to watch for.

I think he was pretty poor in the Curacao game, and I think he's more useful in a game where the U.S. has the bulk of possession and is trying to convert chances near goal, vs. needing to control the ball more.

I agree with both of those things, but Roldan?

Roldan looked good vs. Jamaica and in a situation where the U.S. needed a little more possession.

As I write this, it seems like constant pressure on the U.S. is starting to take its toll.

can anyone explain to me why this is an overwhelmingly pro-mexico crowd given it's a pretty nice sunday night at soldier field? thx.

How you gonna let Dos Santos just leave you behind, Bradley? Keep your mark, man.

Their fans travel well, and tickets are expensive. Also lot of Mexican-Americans support El Tri, and if they live in the mid-west this might be their only chance to see them for several years

MEX reasonably expected to be in this final. The U.S. looked terrible in the friendlies leading up to the GC, so it would make sense for U.S. fans to take a wait-and-see attitude. It was 60-40 or 65-35 in '07, so absolutely there are U.S. fans who will attend a GC final at Soldier Field.

The Mexican national team is the most popular soccer team (club or country) in the United States, and they are playing in the city with the second-largest Mexican-American population in the US.

There’s 600k+ Mexicans/Mexican-Americans in Chicago, a few hundred thousands more in the collar counties. And they support El Tri much, much better than US fans do for our team.

Chicago? Doesn’t sound right

Edit: I see, it’s by metro area

fuckkkkk.

given the pressure it was only a matter of time. Great combo play by Mexico.. Goddam Dos Santos.

On replay it looks like McKennie didn't track back as he should have sadly.

We've had 3 really good chances and didn't convert any of them. Story of the game so far.

McKennie misses the first challenge and then doesn’t track back hard enough to get to Dos Santos.

Cannon falling back to earth the second half. He’s been ok, but definitely needs to get stronger and need more experience to adjust when team adjust to him.

Our midfield is just getting abused, I like McKennie, but he's not great in possession, and nobody else we have in midfield is either, once they really turned up the press we just can't keep possession at all.

It doesn’t matter where it is, matches against a Caribbean side are the only ones where we have a prayer of a home crowd.

Sadly the only chance now is to play some chaos balls to Zardes and hope his spinning-top like gameplay sprays one towards goal at a weird angle.
