It’s weird because Twellman seems so down on it but mostly Mexico have been compact and trying to hit on the counter with their really talented attack. I think this is a far more complete performance than we have had in a long time. Overall a great spectacle both teams really after it
The US needs to figure out the final ball, but they've had consistent success progressing the ball up the field. There have been fires they've needed to put out, but were never under siege. I think the team looks better than the white-knuckle performances against Mexico in Nations League and Gold Cup.

The last 15 minutes were promising to see. More of that and they should be able to get at least one of the board in the second half.
Weah has looked very dangerous. Aaronson has also been good, but I would prefer him to be the one taken off for the Pulisic sub appearance.
I don’t hate Ferreira dropping in with our wingers running off him as a decent alternate look if we don’t like what we’re getting from Pepi or if he’s just tired.
I thought Pepi was fine. Mexico were concerned enough by him and he almost got on the end of a few crosses. Aaronson and Weah have space for a reason
The referee seems to be allowing a very physical game, which I think on balance favors the U.S.
Musah hasn’t brought his shooting boots but he’s the most intriguing midfielder in the 3 tonight
