Nope, he has to go down with his highest-caliber artillery all ablaze, firing off a three each and every time possible.
Helmet Head said:GW is playing pretty terrible this half. Very sloppy. If umass had a clue offensively. This would be a game.
But his mother is at the game. So it's coolmabrowndog said:Chaz managed to package two of the dumbest moves in basketball in the same possession: The idiotic let's-roll-it-inbounds-to-save-clock-and-pick-it-up-when-the-defender-is-right-on-my-ass move, and the equally moronic let's-throw-up-an-immediate-three-after-picking-the-ball-up-off-the-floor move.
Jesus fuck.
A lot of respect for the A-10 this yearSaveBooFerriss said:6!!!!!!!!!!
Not an easy matchup.

Kellogg joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Felger & Mazz on Monday afternoon, and said he doesn’t have a preference when it comes to their first-round opponent.
“I’m not sure yet, I’m sure by the time it gets to Friday I’ll have a better feel for who I’d like. Having to prepare for both and watch tape on both teams has been difficult, but I’ve watched a bunch of both teams on the college basketball channels. I think they both do different things very well,” said Kellogg. “We’re worried about UMass for the next couple of days, but come Wednesday we’ll know who to lock in and zero in on.”
“Iowa is playing almost 11 guys and scoring at a high clip; they’re one of the better offensive teams in the country,” he said of the 20-12 Hawkeyes. “They’ve done a really good job at playing at a high-speed and forcing the tempo.”
“Tennessee has been up and down, but they’ve played their best basketball the last couple weeks of the season,” he said of the Volunteers, who handed UMass an 83-69 defeat in last year’s Puerto Rico Tipoff. “They’re a big physical team that throws it off the backboard and goes and gets it with some pretty good wings and a good point guard in (Antonio) Barton.”
“They’re different and difficult styles, so I’m interested to see Wednesday night how that game unfolds and pans out.”
Some have been critical of the 24-8 Minutemen getting a six-seed in the tournament, but Kellogg tells any doubters to take a look at their season as a whole, and not just the struggles they had down the stretch.
“You look at our schedule and every other game was against an NCAA tournament team,” he said. “It’s one of those things you can’t pick and choose when you want to use the resume, or when you want to look at our RPI and say that’s good enough or not good enough. (The selection committee) did what they have always done and taken credence in a full body of work, and how good the A-10 was this year.”
“I thought we played phenomenal for a stretch there; we had seniors that were locked in and we may have been ahead of schedule. But then we had some winter blues and some of the younger teams were catching up. But we also played some really good games in that stretch,” he noted. “It came down to a lot of games where, in the closing minutes, we won a bunch and we lost a few.”
“It’s one of those things when you’re playing in a top-level conference, at times you’re not going to win every game, but how you respond is key.”
Seeing Tennessee at -4 or -4.5 here this morning.WayBackVazquez said:UMass will be an underdog as the 6-seed vs. either team in its first game.
They have it in them to beat just about anyone, but the problem is they struggled down the stretch and we haven't seen that from them in quite awhile. If they can find that game again they have the potential to be a sweet 16 team. That said, I don't think they will be.mabrowndog said:That sounds about right. Which means Chaz can officially begin his professional career with the Turkish Basketball League at around 6 pm EDT.
my guess is they come out and fall behind by 10 early as they seem to do in every god damn game in the last few months. So if they are going to win they will need to come from behind as always.RedSoxFan said:4-4.5 point dogs today. Every jerkbag and their grandma is picking Tennessee. I really hope this lights a fire under our guys and they play the way they did early in the season.
It's actually Tennessee -5.5 here. And you can get 2-1 on the Umass moneyline.RedSoxFan said:4-4.5 point dogs today. Every jerkbag and their grandma is picking Tennessee. I really hope this lights a fire under our guys and they play the way they did early in the season.

I see Trey as being the X-factor in this game. Chaz cannot be made to feel like he has to carry the team, and they need to balance their frenetic pace with a bit of discipline. But I wouldn't change their style completely...I haven't seen Tennessee much this year, but I'm curious to see how they would match up with UMass' pace. Umass needs solid production from everyone, but it can be done. And don't fall too behind...the late starts are too much to overcome this time of year.RedSoxFan said:
Up to 6 now so even the late money is coming in on the Vols. Still like our chances if we can shoot. Need Trey to hit some 3s today.
Andrew said:Trailing by 19 at the half. Why do they so consistently dig themselves these holes?
Dan to Theo to Ben said:That wasn't anything similar to the Willie Herndon or Lou Roe teams I grew up watching. No heart. No brains.
Let's not forget Lorenzo Sutton in that mix....good group.mabrowndog said:
There wasn't even any similarity to the Carl Smith-Donald Russell-John Hemphill-Edwin Green-Horace Neysmith teams of the Ron Gerlufsen era.
