That is such fucking garbage. He didn't beat Hendricks either time, he was losing to McDonald and lost this fight badly. What the fuck does Lawler have on Dana and the Fertittas? He was outstruck almost 4 to 1 and was hurt multiple times. What nonsense.

I don't care too much about punch count because one of Lawlers is as good as 10 of some of the slaps Condit was landing. The argument is about rd 3 which I give to Condit based on that good left kick to the liver he landed but I don't expect judges to recognize the effectiveness of that strike.

Rds 2&5 for Lawler on my card

If only Condit had knocked Lawler down in the fight or landed series of unanswered punches in the 5th round. Wait, he did both of those things. That was easily 4-1, though you might argue about round 5, either way, there is no 3rd round for Lawler in the fight.

Robbie Lawler is an incredibly fun fighter to watch because of the battles that his style and chin forces, but this is the second time I have been positive that he just lost a title fight and shocked when his name was called. I am fine with the champ getting the benefit of the doubt, except for the fact that Hendricks didn't get it in his second fight against Lawler.

I didn't score rd 5 for Condit and I was actively rooting for him to win. I'm no Lawler fan I think he got shaky JDs in the past. This fight was close.

On a separate note: When the fuck is this new breed of MMA fighter I've been hearing about since 1999 going to show up? Andre Arlovski was ranked #2? Is this a fucking joke? He could barely beat Tim Sylvia when he was in his prime a dozen or so years ago. Robbie Lawler fights the same as he did almost 20 years ago. He just throws bungalows.

Anderson, Jon Jones, GSP those were some interesting dudes. I think Dana has some problems. He's lucky the potato eater is knocking people out or he would have a very dull stable of champs.

I had it as 3-2 Condit, but volume aside, the overall damage done in the third round was close, and like it or not, Condit was closer to being finished in the 5th than Lawler was at any point in the fight.

It's easy to throw 300 strikes when about 120 of those are half effort kicks designed to keep distance. Merely looking at strikes landed in a fight like this isn't the greatest analysis, even if I think Lawler was too passive at times.

I was impressed with Condits chin. He took a shot in the second or third round that literally lifted him off the ground and got right back up. I had Condit 3-2. I get the argument that more than half of his shots are just slaps or kicks that do minimal damage but then again Lawlers strikes didn't exactly shake him up until that last round. I think he got screwed and would love to see a rematch.

Holy fuck!

McGregor possibly holding two belts at the same time has to happen. I don't care how he goes about defending both, I just want to see this happen.

The other big news is that Holly Holm is going to fight Mischa Tate. I have to think Holm is going to savage Tate, but she is tough as hell ( she beat an Olympic silver medalist while fighting with a broken face)and will undoubtedly fight a much smarter fight than Rousey did against Holm.

This also means Rousey is being smart and taking extra time before the rematch.

I'd rather see Edgar, but this is still a good fight.

And spending that time doing movies and photoshoots. She's going to get destroyed again in the rematch.

Buddy told me GSP is looking for a "superfight" against Silva. Any truth to it?

Rory Macdonald said a few weeks ago that GSP is only interested in superfights but haven't heard or read anything else about it (or Silva). Rory still trains with GSP.
I'm curious to see how Silva will look against Bisping Feb. 27'th.

Today the NAC reduced Nick Diaz' suspension from 5 years to 18 months and his fine from 165k to 100k. He's eligible to fight in August.

Looks like Browne t-bagged Mitrione and left a testicle dangling from his eye socket.

I have no idea where the fuck UFC judging is these days. Apparently take downs that aren't followed by any damage or control are worth something now. That is kind of the story for both of the ME fights.

I don't think I have ever seen a split with opposing 49-46 scores.

Seemed like TJ stalked him the whole fight. Cruz effectively countered at times, but really only came forward in the 5th. I thought TJ won. Need to watch it again.

I've seen scores from media folk on twitter all over the place, and no one is really certain. I had it Cruz 1/2/3, TJ 4/5, but I could see TJ catching round 2. Cruz got TJ to change his normally feint-heavy game; rounds 3 and 4 he wasn't moving anywhere near as much as in either of the Barao fights.

How any judge scored round 4 for Cruz is amazing to me, that seemed to be the only certain round in the fight to me. Re-watching the fight this morning, TJ was winning all of the scrambles on the ground, I imagine he will try to get his hands on Cruz more in the rematch.

I agree with II. I watched it tonight without knowing the result and had Cruz winning rounds 1-3. 4 to TJ and 5 was a coin flip.

That Alvarez-Pettis fight. Woof.

If the fight goes to the ground, it's over. Dos Anjos' striking has improved a lot, and Connor won't have as big a reach advantage. He can win this fight, but I don't know if has enough tools.

Rodderick - you're Brazilian, no? Any traction to Connor's comments about Rafael ditching the country and being a 'gringo'?

MMA fans here tend to take disparaging comments about the country very seriously, some people freaked out at Sonnen, for instance, but most understand that there's no shame in living abroad if you believe that's what's best for your career, so as far as trash talk goes, the "traitor" comment was weaksauce.

I've seen a lot of Connor fans among casuals here, which is nice in the sense that more people are appreciating the sport itself, instead of merely rooting for the brazilian superstar du jour. That being said, the vast majority still wants to see Dos Anjos annihilate McGregor to "avenge" Aldo.

How is Conner STILL the underdog? I heard the same shit going into the Aldo bout?.And I hear the same shit about his fight vs Mendes (it was closer than it should have been blah blah)

Give the man his due.

RDA is a beast tho. He just ran through Bendo, Pettis, and Cerrone. All dominant wins too.

He looks good. Needs a little more work on his footwork; you can see him kinda of yip and trip after throwing some punches due to improper spacing and balance, but the speed and power are nice and he doesn't really have any tells before he throws.
I'm mostly just impressed that he's putting in the time. His hands look so much quicker than they used to. Also arms that long look kind of crazy.
