Teixeira was on the only ufc card I’ve ever seen. In philly. Must’ve been 2011. He seemed old then. Crazy.

Hill’s got great hands and angles. I like that he’s not turning over his punches yet. Saving his energy for when GT fades.

I heard them say Kroyler Gracie is one of Hill’s trainers. I use to train with him a lot about 10-12 years ago.

I missed most of this card because I just recently got home. Looks like other than the first fight (draw), this main card is flying by. I actually saw 2 fights in almost no time.

2-1 for Islam, Oz coming on.

Canada was louder for GSP but this might be the second loudest crowd ever.

I’ve got 3-2 Islam, rd 2 close. Pride scoring which I prefer would have Volk as the winner. Pride scoring is not rounds, you just say who you think won the whole fight.

I think that the crowd psyched Volk out a bit. He did a couple of dumb things that seemed crowd/event driven. Both these guys are very good. The takedown defense was impressive man, really impressive.

I was thinking that too, but some guys need to have that swagger to fight their fight. Can’t remember if he always brought that smiling and head nodding to his earlier bouts.

What was middle one? I know first was 48-47 (correct), last was 49-46 which I think is wrong
All in all we’ve seen MUCH worse so I’m happy with the judges even though I had a small flyer on Volk. It was a clear 48-47 imo but I was rooting real hard for the first words out of MB’s mouth to be, “Judge X scores the fight….”

With the caveat that my edibles just kicked in, I think Volk wins that one easily.
Volk will be unplayable in the -425 to -475 range….if not higher after his performance tonight. Yair’s kicks make him a threat to end any fight immediately so I could never play Volk here.

I wish I had your edibles after spending the last 30 min attempting to convince Twitter why Islam won R2. I need a better hobby.

I thought 2 was close but live, like I posted above, I had Islam. RD 4 was Volks problem

It appeared that Volk was distracted by something or someone in the corner prior to being taken down in R4 which essentially lost him the fight. R2 was close but Islam connected with his hands that threatened to end the fight and also secured the TD with sub that also threatened to end the fight. I could never make a case for Volk in R2 even though it was competitive. It’s almost like Volk was fighting all night to not allow Islam these big moments and while he did well….Islam still ended up getting them. I’m already looking forward to the sequel.

Tough ask for Andrade this Saturday. Short notice, 2nd fight within a month after connecting on 231 strikes, the majority on which landed on Lauren Murphy’a concrete face, and zero prep time against an elite grappler in the up and comer Blanchfield. There aren’t many WMMA fights I look forward to but this is one of them.
