I mean, I know that it does terrible damage, but that's just from watching a lot of UFC. I think you're right though. It doesn't really *look* like they're hitting it very hard, and I don't think the average person sees that as an area of the body which can have serious pain inflicted upon it.

I honestly don't know why it isn't a primary weapon of almost every fighter's arsenal. The lead leg is there for the taking if you can keep them guessing with your attack vectors.

Agreed, my point and maybe I didn’t emphasize enough, is beyond the fight and cage performance, that damage takes way longer than I think a casual fan would think to get better.

It hurts to throw I think. I tried a couple into a heavy bag once and it didn’t feel good.
Yeah, I feel like it would hurt me more than him :) I assume you're trying to avoid direct shin bone contact, right? 'Cause it seems like that shit would really hurt. Every time I accidentally bump my shin into my bed frame, I swear to the heavens.

You just made me remember a funny story (to me). I used to train tkd, my buddy kempo. Then we saw UFC 1, so we got together to fight each other with ufc rules. He lived at an apartment complex with a fitness center and we moved all the equipment to the side. We circle up and first move we both try to blast each other with low kicks and nail each other shin to shin. We both hit the fucking deck grabbing our legs. We did other stuff for a while and then the same thing happened about 45 minutes later. Anyway this crazy bastard moved to Rio, lost an eye training and now is in D list Brazilian independent films.

Because of the eye (character actor)?

Chito looked huge next to Edgar. Seemed like he was just determined to run him down and get him eventually.

I was watching the Edgar fight and all I kept thinking about was how I put my previous pooch in a wagon so she could get a walk around her neighborhood one last time before she got sent to dog heaven. Someone needs to protect these old champions from themselves.

Rd 2 was close. Rose finished in mount but she was losing up until then and didn’t do much in mount

49-46 had me thinking Zhang. I wanted Rose but man, I don’t know, if I’m being honest Zhang could have won those first 3.

That's what I mean. I personally thought it was even going into Round 5 and Rose should have won, but if anyone was going to give a 49-46 score, there's no way it should have been Rose. MMA judging continues to perplex.

The way Usman has been cracking people lately, I’m a little worried for my guy. I love how Covington fights but Usman’s boxing has gone up a level and it might be too much. Colby is a tough motherfucker, though.

I had 3-1 Usman after 4 but it easily could have been 2-2, so the scorecards ring true to me. I was live betting Usman through a lot of the match.

How even? No 10-8 in the second?

I guess it should have been. I think I forgot by the time it got to the 5th. Covington should have pressed harder in the 5th. Damn man, Covington is as tough as I thought and I rated him pretty highly already

That one kick by Usman probably got him the 5th and the fight, but Colby blocked it and I thought did more damage in the early part of the round. Stupid to do nothing the last 40 seconds though, even considering the eye poke.
