You like any fighter that’s mildly attractive ...I’m exactly the same way.
If you’re that good looking and decide to be a fighter it means you’re insanely talented and also got a lot to lose. If you stay that looming, well see (a) again.

Blaydes earned that W. Most winded post fight promo I have seen.

Gotta love how Dana didn’t have his broadcast mention the Top Rank event coming up next until the very end. No network synergy with Dana and Arum.

I think about guys like Poirier a lot. He is pretty much as good as you can get at fighting without being at the legend status. If he had a little bit more pop or a little bit better takedown defense he could get and keep a belt.

I love watching that guy fight. Hooker is tough too.

This is well put. I agree.

I was super impressed by how Poirier fought off of his back. Constant real and diverse submission attempts as well as a high striking volume from the bottom. It was really impressive and I felt like Hooker was in danger the entire time he was in Dustin's guard. The switch from the arm bar to the Omaplata to eventually sweep in round 5, all while occasionally mixing in head shots was really sweet.

And he's pretty good looking too, right?

I'm pretty sure Marciano said this in poker last week, and I shot it down quick. Happy to eat my crow on that. I'm curious to see how much they're paying him.

Whoa. Masvidal is replacing Burns to face Usman. Usman about a -270 favorite. Seems like Usman should have a huge edge on the ground. I’d love to see Jorge make this fight interesting :somehow.
Street Jesus vs guys with strong grappling credentials:

Askren - record breaking destruction
Maia - split decision loss that I thought Jorge won
Ellenberger - TKO for Gamebred
Bendo - Split decision loss
Chiesa - Sub for Jorge
Khabilov - Decision loss for Masvidal
Gil Melindez - Decision loss for Masvidal

I'm not sure if his record vs those grapplers are anything to go by. None of them have the striking that Usman does (though he's behind Masvidal in that facet of the game) to set up his takedowns. What Bayko said is true, Usman has a huge advantage on the ground. That being said, I love the fight from an entertainment standpoint and of course Masvidal could win.

It also brings the embedded series up a few notches this week.

I was really impressed with Masvidal’s savvy against Diaz. Plus, Usman is a bit of a wildcard isn’t he? Like the kind of guy Masvidal could goad into trading rather than wrestling.

251 is the first card I'm excited for since, idk a Conor fight or Jones-DC 2. Masvidal is so much fun and hopefully he got a pay bump to make it happen. I don't think his record vs grapplers means much. He's been a different guy since that reality show. I'm not sure when it was filmed but I believe he's 3-0 since and the only grappler was Askren. I imagine fight island will have the big octagon but if it's the small one that's an advantage for Usman

Wait. There are two sizes? I had no idea.

I stumbled across an old fight between Masvidal and Lauzon when they were both coming up. Joe is a buddy, and he was heavily favored in that fight. Masvidal pounded him when they were on the ground.

I think his defense in the ground has always been a little underrated.

Yeah. He’s a very calm and deliberate striker. Did a great job with shot selection and accuracy.

I'm in love with Ribas
Yeah, good performance but she wasn’t exactly fasting great competition. I always want Paige VZ to be good because she’s just about the only female fighters who’s truly super hot without grading her on a fighter curve. I’m sure Dana wishes as well.

Yeah. Steroids aren’t fair in female fighting.

Also, me and my friends were just talking about sketchy judging before they fight. And of course it was a split decision. Don’t understand that. First two rounds were pretty clear.
Andrade looks for sure like she been hitting some bombas at some point.

How good is a purple belt in jiu jitsu?
Huge variation but it’s a real belt. Blue belt is the belt everyone gets after a year or two.

white-blue-purple-brown-black

Purple belts that win big tournaments are really good.

good wrestlers with a purple belt are a problem.

Good to know. Quarantine bae’s doorman got froggy and told me he has a purple belt. It was weird.

2&3 very close. I lean Aldo 2-1, but 3 was very close. Liked the quality over Aldos strikes over Yan’s volume
