I had Santos winning that fight but figured the judges would find a way to give it to Shevchenko. Them doing it with a 49-46 scorecard is fucking hilarious though. Someone is drunk.

Cowboy Cerrone just retired after his fight. Said he doesn't love it anymore. And it definitely looked like he wasn't into it anymore with that loss to Jim Miller.
Holy shit, what a comeback in a fight in which either guy could have just thought about a takedown and probably would have ended up in full mount.

I saw that fight as a guy with a head made of stone vs. someone who lost his chin a while ago. Fun fight though.
I was trying to figure out the last time I saw elbows landed that often from that weird angle, and honestly, Wushu movies was the first thing that came to mind. Really odd.

I haven't watched a UFC PPV in a while, but I think the next one will be a card in which O'Malley has a good chance of getting his face smashed in or his arm ripped off.
Between his whining from the Chito Vera loss to how he acted after the Munhoz no contest, I don't think there is a guy on the roster that I dislike more.

Peña is tough as shit, but maybe don’t get hit by the same punch over and over. Maybe try moving away from that lead hook?
It says a lot about Pena’s heart that a fight can be scored 50-43 and can still be considered an awesome fight (which I agree it was). Even one better……a 50-43 fight where the loser had a sub locked in deep and others that were close.
Yeah I might’ve given Peña the 4th round, but otherwise it was a dominant one-sided fight. Whoever raised the issue was spot on - Peña’s durability reminds me of Oliveira.
So, it was amusing to see O'Malley get matched up against Petr Yan so soon after I mentioned wanting to see him get smashed. Because of course Yan is capable of doing that. I was surprised by the matchup since the UFC has been mostly feeding O'Malley guys he should be able to handle.
I've been trying to figure it out. O'Malley hasn't been particularly impressive against the Kris Moutinhos of the world. Why Yan now?
Since I'm a hater, this is what I've settled on: O'Malley is a top level bullshit artist, but he's not stupid and he doesn't believe his own bullshit. After getting pushed by some of the smaller fish being fed to him, he knows he's running out of time because as soon as he loses to one of these scrubs after already losing to Vera, his hype train is running on fumes. He really wants to be a Diaz brother, but he's only got the weed part down so far.
So what to do? Make a big jump up in the level of competition with a guy who will strike with you. Maybe you get lucky, but even if you get your ass beat, you're a) getting paid for a "name" fight, and b) losing to a killer is way better than losing to a scrub, and the UFC can still work with that.
