Hi, everyone,

My wife and I will be in Boston this weekend for a B's game and I'm hoping to see the WS trophy.  Google hasn't given me much.  Is the trophy on display somewhere yet?

There is a season ticket holder event (Batting Practice)at Fenway this weekend. My guess, and hope, is that the trophy will be there for us to take pictures.  Season ticket holders and their guests are welcome.  I just emailed my rep to see if the trophy will be in attendance. Will keep you posted.

Going to this for the first time. I know they ask you to arrive a half hour early but, for those of you who did it last year, how long did the whole process take? I know there is a tour available and stuff. How long did it actually take to hit etc?

It didn't take long at all. They let you walk around the park at your leisure and then you got into the hitting line whenever you wanted. Last year was 5 swings and I remember thinking they easily could have done 10. That will make it a little longer wait I'm sure, but it wasn't bad at all.
You can also stick around after and hang in the dugouts and lower bowl.

My rep said he was told that the trophies would be there. You can see them after batting in the Gate E area.

edit: Said there would be additional details on Friday, which I'll post here.

We were at the BP thing at Fenway tonight (which was awesome), and the trophy was there for photo ops.

As were the big fatheads, which was AWESOME.

Lol are you kidding me? No one in my group got it close. I was happy when I put two into the B Strong logo in center. For some reason I had trouble pulling the ball in the air (righty). Everything that I pulled was a grounder.

The good news is that they turned down the velocity compared to last year and you get teh swings instead of five. I saw one guy almost hit the wall, but no-one else came close.

I reached the warning track last year but my baseball season was still in full swing. Haven't picked up a bat in a month and a half. Happy for the extra swings this year. Going to see if they'll let me split with my dad.

There were a few people who went five and five, so you probably would be able to

I batted today.  I'm lefty, so forget about the monster.  Managed to send one relatively deep into center which promptly became one of the highlights of my life I think.

More impressive though, was the guy who hit about 10 minutes before me, who hit two bombs over the monster.  Unreal.  Saw two other people scrape the wall as well.

So, how fast do you think they throw it? Haven't hit bb in few years. Just went to the cage & did pretty well at 65 mph (nothing that would have got near the Monster but solid contact on most pitches).
Then I moved up to 80mph & it was a different story. After about 5 whiffs, I meekly hit a few but only made decent contact on 1 or 2.
Left cages 10 mins ago but my daughter is still smirking & laughing if that is any indication of how I looked

Did any of you get a second email from the Sox with details? I got a confirmation email with my date/time (tomorrow @ 12:30) but that's it. The confirmation email said more details to come.

Balls are barely reaching the plate.  Stand as far forward in the box as you can, I watched a couple dozen people swing over pretty much every pitch this AM.  Guys hitting it the best had their front foot on the tarp.  50MPH is a good estimate of speed.

No wooden bats being provided this year.  At least one of the helmets had a number on it (28), so you might be sharing head lice with David Ross (it had a flap on it so it's not Colbrunn's or Magadan's, and A-Gon was a lefty, so Ross is the last right handed #28 I could find, although you can pretend you are Doug Mirabelli if you'd prefer)

I smoked one down the line but came up short of the wall. I surprised my pops by splitting the pitches with him. I can say he was the only one taking swings wearing an Astros Clemens shirt.

Good time. Wait time was long this year, as expected w/ 10 swings, but worth it.

And yes, it was 50 MPH tops, barely reaching the plate. I moved way up on to the tarp.

The trophies were gone by the time we finished batting, but we did manage to work our way back to the Red Sox clubhouse -- past the batting cage and into the clubhouse. I had never gotten in there before.

Yes the visitor's clubhouse is small, but the Sox clubhouse is no great shakes either in terms of space. Most of the lockers were cleaned out but not Pedey's or Papi's. Big Salty fathead on the soda machine. I can't imagine what it is like to spend that much time together, in that close of a space, for an entire season, if you don't like one another.
