Whatever happened with Schwarber? Obviously (?) he can’t be going to the Yankees too. Perhaps he’s an option at 1B for Sox?

Wow. Never thought Rizzo would go to New York. That fuckin sucks.

Was it 2019 when Dombrowski stood firm? Was deflating.

I know a single game shouldn't really matter, but the Yankees losing 14-0 with Cole pitching poorly is definitely helping me to maintain an even keel as news rolls in.

Right Here
How many more teams are going to finance trades with the Yankees? It’s a joke.
As long as they keep forking over prospects, I really don't mind. They can't buy a player mid-season (ask Bowie Kuhn) so if they've wasted chips on marginal players to get a sniff of the Wild Card, I'm cool with that.

Yankees buying everyone meanwhile the Rays, instead of adding, have umm traded their closer Diego Castillo to Seattle.

Well Rizzo was the one I wanted due to my lack of any real baseball smarts.

But I still want a first basemen more than anything. We are still winning a ton of games with our rotation, so how many more do we win if we get Scherzer? I guess in a short series it ups it.

Hopefully something moves soon.

You know we're in first place and are getting one of the best pitchers in baseball back shortly, right?
I don’t disagree but it’s never fun seeing the Yankees improve their team AND as much as everyone hopes that Sale will come back and be a force …. Well, who knows. With so much talent seemingly available to improve it’ll be really annoying to not pick up some impact player.

There are a lot of players out there available. Scherzer and Berrios might be the top pitchers but the Red Sox don't need an ace. It's a nice to have. The Yankees NEED lefties.

I still don't understand why the Twins would want to trade Berrios?
They don’t need to which is why the price is reportedly through the roof. He’s under control through next year and the twins are aiming to contend next year.

Apparently the ask from the Mets was an MLB’er and two out of their top 6 prospects.

Alright, so from us that could be Pivetta, Downs, and Groome. Run it in.

Again, maybe they don’t NEED them, but when the deadline passes and NY/TB/TOR all improve with major adds, it sure helps if they also add someone that could be a significant impact.
