Encarncion-Strand and Steer have been absolutely raking in the high minors, that's a pretty good get for CIN.
I advocated for acquiring Steer a couple of days ago.

He is really old. 77 iircMan, Gammons is really getting old. Dud looks like he's melting on MLBN.
I came here to say the same. He’s stumbling over his words pretty badly. Sad.Man, Gammons is really getting old. Dud looks like he's melting on MLBN.
Eovaldi for Campusano and a 40 man arm would be all in.Wow. They’re all in.
Apparently he was signed on 7/21, but hasn’t pitched since 2020.I didnt know he was still in the game

That would have been news four years ago when he had the illusion of being a good pitcher on a bad team. The Tigers really blew an opportunity by trading him. Now the Giants will even get slightly more despite him never throwing a pitch in an official game for them.Matt Boyd to Seattle, per MLBN. No other details yet
He had two rough outings in the very beginning of July. In the last four weeks his ERA is .90, his WHIP is .90, and he has 6 saves and no blown saves. He has a 12/2 K/BB ratio over 10 innings. Also Lopez had a terrible July and BAL seems to have figured out how to make endless relievers, so probably a good move both ways. The return seems light but I'm sure it's a case where prospect lists haven't caught up to reality on those low-level guys.
Petriello looked into it a bit and thinks he may be tired and it may be affecting his arm angle on his sinker, thread here:He had two rough outings in the very beginning of July. 20 years ago on SoSH 77 seemed old. Now? Notsomuch. He is really old. 77 iirc
They've also DFA'd Odubel Herrera and Familia. Two additions by subtraction. The additions of Robertson and Marsh are a bonus.View: https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/1554557648447709187?s=20&t=Ko367thMvzAGKJ-DhY_1Aw
Eovaldi or Hill to Philly... for maybe one of their 4 closers?
The Phillies have now added David Robertson and Brandon Marsh, but continue to shop for starting pitchers. Sources say they've talked to the Red Sox about Nathan Eovaldi and Rich Hill, and to the Giants about Carlos Rodon. And still in conversation with the Angels on Syndergaard

Makes sense, given Eflin just hit the 60 day IL
I think his whole season has probably been a fluke, but aside from a couple of hiccups he's somehow gotten the job down. I have no idea how. But he should be more thorough. He's given up one run in his last ten innings so it's kind of misleading.Petriello looked into it a bit and thinks he may be tired and it may be affecting his arm angle on his sinker, thread here:

Guess he gets vaxxed lol.MLBN: Merrifield traded from KC to (TBD)

"If I get on a contending team, I'll get the vaccine."Guess he gets vaxxed lol.
He's been on the IL with plantar fasciitis and had a setback recently on a AAA rehab start. When healthy, he's probably the best defensive CF in the league, but his plate discipline is awful.Weird Yankee trade. I know Cards needed a starter but Bader is decent
I'm a bit surprised the Phillies gave up on him. He was the #1 overall pick in 2016 and had a real shot at earning the CF job this year until he fractured a hand in spring training. He's still young enough to turn it around but he's been underwhelming at the big league level so far. Marsh seems like what they were expecting out of Moniak this year.Jayson Stark

Being considered fully vaxxed is at least a two week process, right? Assuming he gets the one-shot variety, anyway. So if he's vaxxed and good to join the Jays in Toronto when they return from their current road trip (8/11), he should have already gotten the shot. Which kinda begs the question of why he couldn't be bothered to do it for the Royals series up there.Guess he gets vaxxed lol.
Love this because I can troll all the Cubs fans in my life. I can’t believe they sent Contreras out to say goodbye to the fans and then keep him.The very definition of MLB GM malpractice:
