My first time driving into work since last summer, and Jones is in for T&R.

No thanks...

Yep. I started streaming yesterday morning and heard Jones and Ted Johnson talking about using public restrooms. It'll be a morning of podcasts all week for me.

It was Mike Flynn, not Ted Johnson. I actually like Flynn as an occasional weekday fill-in. He’s got some hilarious stories, and usually doesn’t go overboard with hot takes. Jones can’t help himself and is so intentionally irritating that Flynn stands out as more relaxed and less psychotic by comparison.

Oops, my bad.

Jones is a toxic bore though. I won’t listen when he’s on as a replacement host.

Oh, you're not the only one. I have a high pain threshold, but always change the channel when I hear Jones' voice

Wallach is the worst in the lead chair. Right now it's him and Arcand. They just had Chris Catillo from Mass Live and he can't get out of the way. He asks a question, let's him answer, and halfway through he inserts himself into the answer.

Yeah, I have trouble listening to the character that Jones plays on the radio. Hard to believe his ESPN show was a more tolerable alternative to Gresh & Zolak back in the day.

The interview with Brad today was really good. They do an awesome job connecting with guests (other than Jim Gray) and I much prefer the approach today compared to the hard hitting questions approach they try to take sometimes. It was pretty funny listening to Brad jokingly tip-toe around the fact that his son very much isn't an NBA prospect.

Just when you thought the star market lady in Brookline couldn’t get any crazier. It took the Garelick farms truck 171 beeps to back up and that was just the beginning.

The star market lady may be the most annoying person on the planet. How many years has this crazy lady been calling 911? Your issue is fixable, just move to the suburbs or even the country where it’s nice and quiet instead of living in a condensed area. You can control it instead of wasting everyone’s time.

Looking forward to the dispatcher shutting her down tomorrow.

They finally played the second half of the Star Market lady Brookline 911 segment today. Those dispatchers are saints.

She has been calling and doing this for 20 years. I can’t imagine being that miserable. If she has kids, I bet they have moved as far away from her as possible. All calls from her should be handled like the guy today. Ask what the current issue is and get a brief description and hang up. Don’t allow her to go in her preplanned endless diatribe to nowhere.

The fast forwarded sections of her call from a few days ago were unbelievable. I think they said the call lasted 10+ minutes.

As someone that occasionally works with dispatchers, this is 1000% correct. They deal with so much shit on the phone it’s ridiculous.

Fred's last 30 minutes on Will Smith has been outstanding.
These guys are great at what they do. I'm guessing they all were asleep when the Oscars thing happened, and they turned it into hours of funny material basically on the fly.

However, the funniest moment of today's show was Rich reading the Brady ad in his Renaissance voice. Had me dying.

Some real drama in the first segment today. They were talking about how much it sucks to walk dogs in the cold and Fred asked Rich if he was high up in his building. Rich said yea, but wouldn't say what floor. He said he has had a scary incident of someone knowing where he lived and didn't want to ask. Fred kept pressuring him and Rich was like, "Dude, I am not effing around STOP talking about it."

It was a little uncomfortable and Fred just needs to get the last word in and kept at it a little too much, IMO.

Also, the intro sucked (again). It was a really bad Karaoke singer singing "Pour Some Sugar On Me", but they played half the song. Maybe I don't know the context or maybe I should know who the singer was, but it was really bad and not at all funny.

Fred’s the guy who a few weeks ago just casually mentioned that some nut was stalking his wife and calling his house. So seems like he’s really cavalier about that thing, for some reason.

Yeah, I get reveling in awkwardness because it's normally funny (i.e. Jim Gray interviews), but not family stuff. Odds are that Rich is being overprotective, but that's a call for him and his wife.

“Who tooted on Undisputed?”
“Did Shannon shart?”

Best ones ever spoken
Even Fred was taken aback by the first one. As someone who has heard I believe every Fart Court and take the decision of the Court seriously, I was shocked at the dispute on the last fart. I thought that was an open and shut case of Guilty.

Same here. I would go so far as to say Sharpe thought he would set Bayless up to talk for awhile and therefore provide him some cover and ol’ Skip threw him by only giving a one word answer

I didn't even think of that. They talk over each other so much and there's no dead air time, I bet he frequently farts but no one can hear it.

It'll be cool to hear Rich's report from Rock's show, but after that, I think they can let it rest for a while. I have a feeling it'll burn out like the Charlie Sheen stuff did. I will say the whole story has brought out a giddiness and enthusiasm in Fred that is usually buried. Kinda fun to hear him in that mood.

His rant today about leaving him personally as a white person today was hilarious. White people are bad enough and we do enough awful things, don’t pull us into this one!

What is the backstory of Pasta Joe?
He created two funny audio bits once upon a time where: 1) he talked about waking up in the morning and eating a “bowl of pastaaah” and 2) mentioning that he likes Taco Bell’s Fritos and beef…..and cheeeeeeese.

Other than that, he brings nothing to the table and as a stand-alone bit today was probably a terrible idea. But Fred really wanted it.
