I only listened for 20 minutes today but nothing about Fred was mentioned.
Same. Hopefully everything is OK, he clearly hasn't been taking this situation well (which I dont mean as a negative, everyone deals differently).

They didn't mention him at all. He's also deleted the IG post.
Any chance the divorce was from Rich/98.5 and he's taken it down due to legal reasons?

His #getinline hashtag was conspicuously missing the word "ladies."

And has he ever been that public about his private life?

I actually was wondering the same thing since one of the hashtags was influencer. That seems a weird hashtag when getting a divorce from a significant other but not so weird when done in regards to work I suppose.

I guess he puts that on every post he does? It does seem odd to keep the trend on that kind of posting, though.

My guess is he had a bit to drink, got into an argument and then posted that. Woke up this morning to a shitshow, deleted it, and asked the guys not to mention it.

Didn't T&R reup their contract not that long ago? Can't imagine Fred walking away from that (and the constant ratings bonuses for first place)

The station literally just let him move to Nowhere, Tennessee, and do the show from there for who knows how long, so I don't think he has any festering professional issues at the moment.

Fred has a long history of making hasty posts on social media that he takes down when cooler heads prevail/he sobers up. Hopefully for his family's sake this is one of those times. The show has brought me a lot of joy, especially the past couple months, so I do hope everything turn out OK.

Yeah, Fred doesn't have the personality for social media. It always lands him in trouble.

Lame joke then he doesn't show up for work and they avoid it completely all day? Things must not be good in the Toucher Household.

There was a comment late in the show about people making drunk posts on social media and regretting it. Last 10 minutes or so IIRC. I assumed they were talking about Fred.

I checked out his instagram, there's a recent vid where he's with his kids and gives a little tour of his parents place. Looks awesome. But Fred looks awfulllllllll. Like, not taking a shower, not putting on clean clothes awful. Kind of feel bad for him, although that's a hell of a place to get to quarantine.

Today he mentioned he's "seeing" two shrinks right now -- one of whom Fred didn't like in part because he bluntly told him he should go to a hospital.

To be fair, his wife said that shrink was a jackass too. They both agreed the other one was good. I know way too much about the poor guy's life, ha.

does anyone know if his wife stayed in boston? i remember seeing a fred tweet several weeks ago that was something like "yo @delta - not your fault but i need three tickets to TEN sunday, can you help us out?"
3 = fred + 2 kids
went to try to find the tweet but couldn't find fred's account, maybe he's frozen it again

He said today on the show she's in Tennessee with him, is going to stay a week after he comes back, and the kids are going to stay a few weeks after as they can do more activities down there (baseball camp, etc.)

Management was pissed at Fred since he can’t come back into the studio as planned since he now has quarantine so they forced him to take a week vacation. Now he has no vacation left until like September and is even having to work 4th of July week

There's a ton of people out there dealing with far worse, but that's pretty dumb on management. The show has been fine 100% remote and there's no sports until the end of July. Pissing off the highest rated morning show during a pandemic is an odd move. I missed the segment so I'll need to listen to the podcast later.

He said it like a week and a half ago I forget when. I think it stemmed from management telling Fred when they wanted him back in studio, he booked to go to Tenn anyways with no plan on getting back on time.

Is Rich back in the studio? Given his wife's health, I can't see him wanting to risk things until he absolutely has to.
Nope. I think he mentioned the other day that her doctor is projecting that they (maybe just he?) can go back ~mid-July.

Curious on what that timeline is based upon. Honestly, everything feels make believe. Like nobody really knows what the big picture or what best steps are, just people making guesses. Not trying to be callous, but it's very unlikely this just disappears into the ether and as long as it's around Rich is going to be trapped at home.

I know it was a troll job, but he roped me in anyways. Fred drove me fucking nuts this morning with yet another bad Tatum take over Tatum seeking insurance in an unprecedented situation two months from receiving a guaranteed contact worth over $100M.

The thing is, I don't think Fred was trolling. He's lost part of his mind with respect to COVID. His whole trip to Tenn, not quarantining on either end of the travel shows that. Since he got back he's gone out to dinner at least 3 times and to the JCC pool His wife drove to RI to get her nails done yesterday. He clearly doesn't think COVID is real and no one under 70 dies or even gets sick.

His takes today on Tatum were awful. At least Wallach called him out on it after Fred said they need someone like Lebron who's a guy that'd die on the court to win like Bird and Jordan to name the number of players in the league like that. They couldn't name 3 players in the league like that, one of which was Marcus Smart.

Oh Fred, great idea, you shouldn't build your team around anyone who's not Lebron caliber. Max contracts should be for only those guys. Why didn't anyone think of that? I turned it off for a couple hours cause I couldn't do it anymore, it was painful radio.

Fred’s one of the few guys I can like while he’s presenting bad takes. I have completely separated my enjoyment of his personality (which I will always find compelling) from his rhetoric (which is hit and miss). Can’t say the same of Rich - his bad takes drive me crazy. Not sure why. I could listen to Fred be wrong all day and still be entertained.

I completely get what you’re saying. I feel the same way with Rich. I think it’s because he isn’t a HUGE sports fan so he gets called on a bad take and doesn’t have the history of sorts fandom to either back it up or talk it to death.

I can barely listen to the show anymore with Fred's takes on COVID-19. I had to turn it off after 5 min today with Fred just wish casting and saying constantly the "young people don't get sick" and it's no big deal and who cares just move on. It's day after day of him saying the same thing.

Listened to Fred defend not doing anything for Mother’s Day for his wife... that was a bit awkward.
Don't forget the fact that he got off the plane in Tenn from MA and the next day went to the pharmacy looking for a card. People like Fred are the problem with the US response. Can't do the most basic things to help make the situation better because it's inconvenient to him.

I feel like Rich annoys me as well with his takes from the other end. It would be great if they had a "middle ground" voice on there. (Wallach is of course useless.)

I feel like Wallach is probably 3rd out of 3 sidekicks to control the T&R dialogue, Christian Arcand may be slightly better but can get easily frustrated so he is 2nd, but Hardy would be ideal. He seems to get in a good back in forth when co-hosting with either Rich or Toucher when one of them is absent. If Wallach didn't get the tiresome NEEERDS! bullying from Zolak as evidenced during any of their crossovers, he'd be a better fit for the midday show.

It's a tough listen with their Covid discussions where they both project their own personal insecurities into it. Rich getting at a near hysterical level about hockey not starting makes me shut it off as well.

One of you called in today around 9, didn't you? ;)

Seriously, a caller lambasted Fred and Rich about the lack of "bits", and the focus on COVID and 'social justice'. The way they responded is why I like this show so much. They listened, and had a genuine conversation with the guy. Any other sports show would have turned it into a routine, got defensive, and blasted the caller.

Say what you will about the show these days, but the hosts are human and struggling to deal with things, which at the very least is relatable, if not always entertaining.

heh. somone called into felger and mazz yesterday and just went off on felger. his premise was that felger shit talks so many athletes as being lazy, while his gig is to talk on the radio for a couple hours a day and takes every friday+ off during the summer. kept thinking they were going to cut off the caller but they let him make his rant, was pretty refreshing.
