Fred spent the first 20 minutes ripping on hippies. I don’t agree with all of it be he’s more right than wrong. Trustafarians are the absolute worst.

Fred. I literally drove past a work site last week WITHOUT a cop in sight.
It is unusual, but I have seen it. Moreover, the landscapers usually do NOT & its courtesy to let them out. Come on.

He insisted that they play the clip. And then when he got backlash He went on this trope rant about how all hippies are the worst because they have trust funds and such.
It was obviously disrespectful. To the point where his own co-host told him not to do it.

Well they have to have a police detail at the station now due to threats made to Fred and the Station over it, so someone is! Not implying it was anyone here.

I was referencing a very real email that Fred read on the air, all you guys have come after him so hard that the company has hired a police detail for protection.

I assume this is what you are referring to? Man, Fred can't help himself. And poor Hardy looks so uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Wallach is just pathetic here feigning ignorance.
Also is Fred even right that Rich could have hired RJ? How does Fred know RJ's contract situation? (I suppose maybe RJ could have told him.)

Definitely not. And not to mention that even IF RJ was available for a job with Rich, maybe there were other factors involved in that not happening? Fred, of course, just assumes Rich just passed him over like a jerk and is acting like a phony.

Man, Hardy and Wallach with a no-sell! I'm betting there's a bit of projection here because Fred probably also had a chance to hire RJ. I actually would have liked RJ on TRSS but Hurley is growing on me. "Front and Center" is so much better than Sports Hub Headlines that it's not fair to compare.
It was easier to side with Fred when he was feuding with Dennis or Minihane or the "not one, not two" Miami Heat guy than it is when he is disparaging the guy who did most of the actual work to get him to that almost million dollar paycheck.

My kids are a few years younger than Fred's but I think my son is a spitting image of the way he describes Milo. So I die laughing at his impressions.

Does your kid call you a dumbass all the time like Fred’s do? I can’t imagine having my kids referring to me as dumbass all the time.
I’m not saying they are wrong, but it’s pretty disrespectful.
My daughter knows I’m not a dumbass because I bury her in every competitive game from cards to monopoly to soccer and pull a Terry Tate on her to make sure she knows who’s in charge. Plus she needs help in the shrines in Tears of the Kingdom so she knows her place.
I'm 99% sure Fred has said that both his kids refer to him as dumbass all the time.
Another thing I didn't like about Fred back when I listened (I do still listen to bits if you guys here say they are funny) was how every so often he would more or less call his son stupid on the air. I don't remember the specifics but it was something about school or math or the like, along with the usual gripes about fortnite or whatever was doing instead of trying to understand his schoolwork. I've never heard Fred say anything bad about his daughter; maybe he just likes her better.
The first two hours this morning were very good but they really highlight the Wallach problem. 4 guys in 2 separate locations able to communicate with far fewer interruptions than the normal 3 man team. Jon seems like a nice enough guy but he has no radio instincts after 30+ years. Conversely I would love a weekly Holley hour and more RJ is never a bad thing.
I loved RJ just throwing it out there full force he wants the Bruins job over anything else in his life and it’s been his lifelong dream job. Doesn’t open up often, better shoot your shot when you can. RJ just seems like a legit good guy.
Wallach did the same thing then prodded by Fred when the Cs job opened up. But I think Wallach was a little more reserved in his desires because he knew it probably wasn't going to happen
FYI for loyal listeners. This morning Fred said that tomorrow (Thursday) would feature some post game audio from old friend Adolfo who now lives in Dallas (again).

I forget what happened but I think Adolfo tweeted something essentially saying he never liked Rich much
It was more that Rich hadn't reached out or talked to him for years, which does kind of suck to hear. But my memory is that Rich was the one who was closest with Adolfo during the years he was on the show and hung out and dealt with him all the time. Again: Rich seemed to change and really shut people out during the last few years of the show -- particularly during the pandemic.
Adolfo himself called Rich a prick on the air this morning! It's wild how he managed to alienate the entire rest of the show. I do like the new Rich show, so I hope things work out more gracefully for him now.

I'm not exactly sure what he means by "stop begging my friends to work for you, ya phony prick" other than that it's both a shot at Rich and an imitation of Fred. This is strange to me because I recall that toward the end of Adolfo's time on T&R, Fred had gotten him so worked up that he asked Fred to step outside and fight. If I recall Rich had to ask if Adolfo even wanted to work there any more.
Hardy just seems like a really good guy with how he started off telling Adolfo what a good job he's done and how skilled he is at street audio (co-signed). By the way, why do they call him Hardy? How do you get 'Hardy' from 'Robert Poole'?
On the other hand I never liked how often Fred calls people 'prick', even in the T&R days, and it's a big reason I don't listen to this show. That goes 10X for when he calls people 'pussy' for crying over nostalgia or whatever. Rich's douchebaggery, such as we have heard of it, is at least kept off the air. At this point Rich could be the Ellen of Boston radio.

I did like Fred's reaction to Adolfo speaking spanish. It reminds me of Fred's reaction to Adolfo's joke of "when someone calls me a Mexican, I say 'thank you very much'!" Good times.
That audio is hilarious. Did Adolfo have a few drinks this morning? And which "friends" of Adolfo is Rich trying to hire? Fascinated by that comment.

That's a decent comparison.
I will say that unlike Rich, you could see flashes of Ellen's vicious nature in certain interviews where she pushes past guest's clear discomfort (Dakota Johnson called her out and that got the downfall started).
At least to me it's been a total surprise that Rich is so disliked by the people he worked most closely with. Adolfo and Mike Lockhart in particular.
Someone called up this week and was making fun of Dondero. God does he suck. I can’t put my finger on why but he’s awful. I’m not sure if it’s his tone or he takes things to seriously but the last the I want to listen to on a Sunday is him. Over to the Arcand podcast!
