Cora had a good point. A runner’s baseline is not established until there is a tag attempt and then the base path is the straight line between the runner and the bag. It is not some magic line between second and third. It is a very misunderstood rule and Cora was right to ask about it when the fielder doesn’t attempt a tag but feints one with an empty glove.

Fucking luck again that he’s running on the pitch. All those foul balls and he stays put and then they fucking send him at exactly the right fucking time.

Now Eovaldi. I guess Cora really wants to win this game. Good luck to him.

So, Workman in the ninth or does "I only threw six pitches" Eovaldi reappear?

Why is Taylor out?
He was in just to force the switch-hitter Ramirez to bat right-handed. It surprises me, because Ramirez doesn't have much of a platoon split (but that's why he's Cora and I have my feet up on my computer table).

OK, I was showering and missed that. But Taylor has been so good lately against both lh and rh batters.

Easy.

Here’s a stat for you. The Red Sox have two steals in 22 games and have been caught 4 times. Opponents have stolen about 4,000 bases against them.
