The Rays are incredibly streaky this year. When they’re hot, they bludgeon teams, when they’re cold, they lose a ton of low-scoring, close games.

I don't know. This seems like a pretty good outcome all things considered. Two "gritty" wins for NYY but no momentum offensively. And then no winning streak as your Ace pitcher gets clobbered for 7 ER. I don't know what would have been a better result out of the three games.

That was a fantastic beatdown. And the fact it happened to Cole makes it even more delicious. Weird line for Cole as he got 10 Ks.

I think the glee comes from the fact that over the past three days we saw the Rays lose ground, and on top of that, we saw Cole get his ass handed to him in glorious fashion, thus thwarting any momentum the MFY's may have had gained the previous two days. To me, that series was the epitome of win-win.

Yeah that drubbing really killed their momentum. Down to 5 in loss column and 4 is not out of the question now.
