On a lighter note:

Tom Brady has a notoriously strict diet. Tom Brady nevertheless will endorse Subway, one of the most prevalent fast-food purveyors in the nation.

Terry Lefton of Sports Business Journal reports that Brady has never even entered a Subway, which has more than 22,000 locations in the United States alone. Brady’s TV ad, which will debut later this month, also reportedly will not show Brady holding Subway products, per Lefton.

The Subway endorsement deal nevertheless represents an attempted pivot by Subway back to the perception that it’s a healthier alternative to other fast-food options. It’s also an effort to beat back competition from sub chains like Jersey Mike’s; Subway, according to Lefton, reportedly has closed “thousands” of stores over the past three years.

For those interested, there's more Brady on the golf course today. He's in another Match paired with Phil Mickelson, playing against Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers. It's on TNT at 5pm I think.

They must have backed up the brinks truck. & I find it hard to believe that at the least pre 2001 brady “never entered a subway”

Not sure where to put this, but:

This is the 15th major sports championship for a city who has Tom Brady as their starting NFL QB. That's kind of insane.

6 Patriots
4 Red Sox
1 Celtics
1 Bruins

2 Lightning
1 Buccaneers

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but this story doesn't really make much sense.

If the injury happened in 2019, the MCL would be healed or at least scarred down by his season in Tampa. Most MCL injuries, even high grade or complete tears don't need surgery to heal.

Perhaps his MCL injury with the Pats didn't heal very well, was bothering him during the Tampa year, and then he had surgery in the offseason. But this is nothing at all like someone sustaining a complete MCL tear and then immediately playing on it.

If he did that at all (also unlikely), it would have been in 2019 on the Pats.

Stroud is the one reporting it happened in 2019. Brady himself pointed to April / May 2020, which seems like it would make more sense based on what you're saying. I guess he might have hurt it training in the offseason (there wasn't really anything going on then)?

Not exactly cries for penalties but Florio noticed and (it looks like) asked the league for comment.

Tom Brady played in the Super Bowl and multiple other games with a fully-torn MCL in his knee. The Buccaneers never once disclosed that he had a knee injury. The NFL has declined comment on the matter.

Great, Pats about to lose a draft pick.

Even if that timeline is true, it’s very unlikely he played with a fully torn MCL.

If you have a complete ACL tear, 4 months later it’s almost always still fully torn. If you have a complete MCL tear, 4 months later you typically have a scarred but intact MCL.

Maybe it didn’t heal ideally and caused him issues all year but it’s pretty unlikely he played all year on a fully torn MCL.

Doesn’t really matter just also doesn’t make much sense.

At least we can get a definitive answer to is it they hated Tom or the Patriots. Who has had injury report shenigans recently (last 10 years or so)? Indy, Seattle (I think got in some trouble there), and I feel like there is another team. I don't recall the Colts getting that big of a penalty or even the Seahawks (might have been some fines). And the Seahawks at the time should have qualified for repeat offender status due to some of their illegal practices stuff (or some other thing that I forget).

Edit -- Report: Seahawks won’t be heavily penalized for not disclosing Richard Sherman's injury | FOX Sports

Seems wrong that Brady could be suspended for the actions of Tampa’s coaching staff. Also, it’s known that a lot of players play through partially healed injuries that never make the injury report. So I’m not expecting anything other than the Patriots being docked a mid round draft pick.

What's interesting to me is that other fan bases used the fact that Brady was always listed on the injury report as proof that the Patriots were cheating.

Here
I think it’s fairly clear to anyone who truly paid attention that Brady was not a fan of Donald Trump the president. Was nice to see him be a bit more open about it here.

It was, but then again he had multiple opportunities to express that even in a subdued way and didn't take it, not even in a Howard Stern interview.

I think the calculus is a bit different given that Trump is no longer in office and deplatformed. I also wouldnt be surprised if Trump suddenly embraces the Wells Report.

Yeah, I think he’s just far more business oriented than political and decided he didn’t want to alienate anyone.

TB12 was more political than he needed to be by poking election conspiracy nuts. It seems he wanted to clarify at least where he stands on the legitimacy of the election.

It's funny. A celebrity like Brady that Trump probably believes is his good buddy, burying Trump publicly and yucking it up with Biden is probably one of the biggest triggers Trump can have.

I think Tom was more interested about making a funny rather than any political narrative. And it was funny

It's never crossed my mind until today, but would Brady ever consider a political career?

Given how far out of his way Brady has gone to not say anything remotely political, I think probably it was about more than that.

Pretty sure this is a real statement but it's so hard to tell these days...

Edit: Sorry, the one time I didn't want it to be "onion" it was.

It is times like these when I wish Trump wasn’t banned from Twitter.

Like, the prime minister of a G8 country could call Trump an uncultured oaf and Trump would get more offended by Brady making a crack at him.

When Obama made fun of Trump, Trump got mad and decided to run for President. Logically this means Trump will get mad and try out for Tampa Bay QB.

It’s very mild but the idea that Tom said anything that could be construed as even the slightest dig at Trump makes me all warm and fuzzy.
