Go **** yourself, bitch.
Plays one game without getting every call his way and he quits. Sums up his entire career.
I’m just glad we don’t need to have any more talk about the refs in his games throwing games because that absolutely happened and it will always tarnish his true legacy.
.
Hell, look how much ****ing luck Brady needed for those titles.
Just last year the Packers and Chiefs both lost their starting LTs late. Buccaneers probably don’t even make the Super Bowl without that Bahktiari injury. Probably don’t win it without the Fisher injury.
My guess is a PED scandal involving Tom will break in the near future and that’s the reason for the retirement.
There is no way that guy wasn’t juicing in some manner. No one plays like he did at age 44. No one has ever done it.
You’re not gonna tell me his dietary regimen was better than anyone else’s ever has been and that’s the reason for it.
.
Gets his lip bloodied and his first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty ever. Throws a temper tantrum and quits..
I love Tom senior almost as much as Tom.View: https://twitter.com/KylenMills/status/1487536452590206977
JUST IN: Tom Brady Sr. tells @kron4news that his son is not retiring. Brady Sr. says an online publication started circulating an unsubstantiated rumor. However a number of NFL insiders are now reporting it. @kron4news #TomBrady #NFL
The real power behind the throne. The Hand of the King.I love Tom senior almost as much as Tom.
It's awesome, though, because it shows how in their heads Tom Brady remains. The commentary over at Chiefs Planet is predictably appalling:
It’s ok, even their Chiefs players hate playing for that fan base. The commentary over at Chiefs Planet is predictably appalling:
The hand of the king has 5 rings on it. And his other hand has the rest. The real power behind the throne. The Hand of the King.
I don't really understand the need for the one day contract, but, yeah, I don't understand this take. Are you not going to tune in to his retirement ceremony in Foxboro because he retired a Buc?Unpopular take coming, but fuck the one day contract with the Pats. He wanted to leave, so he left. He can retire a Buc. It was his choice and it is what it is.
I’m not going to do or not do anything specifically because he went to the Bucs. But he chose to finish his career there. So I think that a one day contract to retire a Patriot is… hypocritical? Which is why I don’t see him doing it.I don't really understand the need for the one day contract, but, yeah, I don't understand this take. I think it is unnecessary, but unless you are using a different definition of hypocritical I don’t see it that way. It didn’t work out that he played his entire career here but if the one day contract is a nod to the fact that New England means something to him, so be it.I’m not going to do or not do anything specifically because he went to the Bucs. But he chose to finish his career there. So I think that a one day contract to retire a Patriot is… hypocritical? Which is why I don’t see him doing it.
Agree, it’s meaningless. What he did happened and it was incredible and brought me immense joy as well. He can indeed do what he wants. He retired a Buc, for better or for worse.I think it is unnecessary, but unless you are using a different definition of hypocritical I don’t see it that way. It didn’t work out that he played his entire career here but if the one day contract is a nod to the fact that New England means something to him, so be it.
He’s a Patriot and everyone will remember him that way. And he’ll get an epic ceremony in Foxboro and he will go into Canton as a Patriot. I don’t see the need for the symbolic one day contact but I also don’t care if it happens. He gave me more special memories than any other athlete ever and I’m pretty sure I’ll say the same thing 25 years from now. He can do what he wants.
This is great. If anything Tom Brady never fell off the Max Kellerman cliff
I watched Brady win his first Superbowl as a college freshman. Then I met my wife, got a degree, finished grad school, got married, have moved locations/jobs several times... and now had a 5 year old son, who is still old enough to have seen Tom Brady win 3 Superbowls. My kid was 3 when Brady first did his thing. He just had his 24th birthday—grew up, graduated college, got a job and moved away. So many life stages—and Brady was just fucking killing people the whole time. Amazing.
It should be a Bucs sleeve on a Pats uniform.View attachment 48927
See... I get that he played for Tampa, but this really annoys me. Call me childish. I don’t care.
Did Michael Jordan sign a one-day contract with the Bulls when he retired?I understand deeming the 1 - day contract silly... in every instance but this one. It's Tom Brady, how can you not be sentimental about him as a Patriots fan? He's the Michael Jordan of his generation. He made 20 years worth of memories here with this fan base. It would be a little salty if he didn't make a nod to everything that happened here on his way out the door. Especially in a sport where there is no team logo involved in the HOF process.
NM. Or maybe he isn't a free agent. Thought his contract voided at the end of this year.Is there any chance this is intended to be leverage for possible reunion with Josh McDaniel in Vegas? Bucs get a choice of losing him for nothing or get a few picks and/or Carr.
He did but voided the morals clause before finishing the letter M.Did Michael Jordan sign a one-day contract with the Bulls when he retired?
1 reason why i like raider and LAC fans moreThe commentary over at Chiefs Planet is predictably appalling:
it seems manning hates the colts and wants to be known more as a bronco manning has only made 1 app in indy since he retied my point if the NFL hof was team based he wouild want to go in as a broncoIt should be a Bucs sleeve on a Pats uniform.
Occam’s razor is this I think: Brady made the decision to retire. Someone who knew told Schefty. Tom was not ready yet to tell the world or maybe even the Bucs. So now there has to be some cya for among other things why Schefty knew before Arians, etc. What the fuck is going on? I saw this thread, saw the headline, ignored it for a few hours, then saw a headline on CBS that the NFL is awaiting his decision, came on here to mock CBS, and now see it's apparently true that it's up in the air.
He doesn't talk about players on other teamsSo when the subject of Brady’s retirement comes up the first time before BB are we going to get? Are we going to get 10,000 words on 12 as if he was asked about the history of field goal holders learning to keep the laces out, or are we going to get something that is going to make us think of “ we are on to Cincinnati” … or something in between
I think Brady is retiring, had a carefully crafted social media way of announcing, it probably includes announcing what is next for his “brand”, and somebody spilled the beans and he is trying to take control back of the situation. He decided to retire.
He told a small inner circle
One of them spilled the beans
Brady wanted to reveal it on his terms
There may be a financial incentive to waiting till a certain point to reveal this
Brady didnt want this to happen
So now they are having everyone walk it back
That's my theory
....man, I hate to tell you, but it seems more like BB wanted to move on. By all accounts, BB wanted to get his next QB and get things going. Lawyer Milloy and all. Knowing what they had on the team and their cap situation, it's more likely than not that it was either BB & TB12 parting ways amicably or BB telling TB12 he didn't think he was good enough anymore rather than TB12 telling BB to fuck off.I’m not going to do or not do anything specifically because he went to the Bucs. But he chose to finish his career there. So I think that a one day contract to retire a Patriot is… hypocritical? Which is why I don’t see him doing it.
This. 100%.I think Brady is retiring, had a carefully crafted social media way of announcing, it probably includes announcing what is next for his “brand”, and somebody spilled the beans and he is trying to take control back of the situation.
He is done.
In the poker room today I had to hear 3 different people announce to the table at different times that Brady was going to “sign a 10-day contract” with the Patriots then retire.Unpopular take coming, but fuck the one day contract with the Pats. He wanted to leave, so he left. He can retire a Buc. It was his choice and it is what it is.
I don’t think anyone chose Kraft over Brady. They chose to continue rooting for a team that they previously rooted for instead of switching allegiances.i will never understand the people who chose 100% to root for robert kraft over tom brady; for both, maybe, but to tell that guy fuck off cause his team didn't want him like that...nah
Jake from Boston wants to look at her IG before confirmingWait. We think confirmation comes from Jules who was texting Tom’s 10Yo daughter?
He'd probably be working in the financial world somewhere in the Bay Area. There are some interesting articles out there about his time as an intern Merrill Lynch back when he was in college. I think he would've been in the league for a while, but if he's on another team with bad coaching and a lackluster roster who knows how it would've played out for him. If the Saints pick him instead of Bulger in 2000, does he make it there long enough to get to the Sean Payton era after Katrina? I think he would've bounced around a few teams and if he was in the right system he would've had some success but he wouldn't have turned into the GOAT. Hell, even Vinateri said in America's Game that if Bledsoe hadn't gotten hurt Tom would've never seen the field.I always wonder what would have happened to Brady had the Pats not drafted him. Would another team have? (There were a few more QBs picked after Brady.) Would some team have signed him as a FA and seen his potential and kept him on their roster and then given him a chance in a game? It's not hard to imagine that he was a hair from living a life of anonymity.
