I’m excited for this today. Less for the actual competition but more the innovation of a sports broadcast. Hearing them miked up the whole time, no commercials, side bets, drones, etc...it’s all going to be new and different.

Who else is watching?

I’ll be watching in some capacity. I planned to have no work after noon or so and now have fires to put out. Anyone know if you buy on ppv, can you watch later? I’d really like to see start to finish but not sure I can sit down before 3.

I've been looking forward to this, and will be tuned in. I'm assuming they've already agreed to split/donate the winnings, but go heavy on the side bets??

You should be able to order and DVR it, that’s what I did. I won’t be able to watch until 5 or so.

Anyone know how to order it PPV on fios? I have my amazon stick so I can get it there easily but I’d rather get it via fios.
Edit: nm... didn’t realize you needed to search with the sponsors name.

This is not on free/regular cable tv, I suppose?
It's PPV. They're hyping it up like Tiger and Phil are gonna step into the ring and box. It's pretty neat. I have businesses everywhere calling in paying $299 for it left and right. The hype is totally working.

I'm actually intrigued by it myself. Just like TFP, not as much for the match but for how the whole thing came together. They made me care about this outcome and I do not give a shit about golf in general.

For residential, I think it's only like $19.99, but I wouldn't pay for it either. I'm curious how it turns out though.

It seems to me unless these guys have a ton of side bets or viewers can prop bet the shots, there's gonna be a lot of dead time/nothing going on.
I'm guessing the dead time will be filled with the announcing crew blabbering endlessly about Tiger/Phil nonsense.

I'm going to see if the bar at my local course is airing this.

guess it's not much of a hot take, but seems lame that this whole thing isn't for charity (and not just the side bets). neither of these dudes need the $9mm money, and it's thanksgiving weekend. meh.

Pat Perez is the best.

Interesting pregame content. You can tell they’re nervous and working through it but the banter between Barkley and Perez is great and the miked up convos on the practice green are cool.

They are about 15 years late on this. I'm a decent golf fan and a big Tiger honk, but I have no interest in watching this. Will be interesting to see the number of buys ends up being.

To clarify....no interest in paying to watch it.

My BR app just cut out and won’t reload, also only watching on 1 device. Now it doesn’t even recognize that the event is live. Incredibly frustrating.

Why couldn't they just put it on NBC or something (after the NHL game) and sell commercials for it? Or really any channel not showing football today.

Tiger being mic’d up really makes no difference, he doesn’t really chat out there. And I was kinda pissed when EJ stepped on phil talking to the rules official about the changes for 2019

After every hole Tiger is asking which way to go to the next tee. Is it possible that he's not played Shadow before???>

No. He’s played it many many many times, and frequently holds foundation events there.

This is almost certainly the first time he’s *walked* the course, though. So he’s probably just looking for the direct walking routes.

The major reason the venue is what it is is so they can legally make side bets, right?

No. Golf betting is legal in nearly every state (betting between individuals on games of skill), if this even qualifies as betting.

It’s at Shadow Creek because it’s a world class course, weather, location, both players’ pre-existing relationship with the course, and the ease/willingness of the owner (MGM) to shut it down for something like this.

Apparently BR made the stream free for everyone now due to payment processing issues.

Holy shit, I just got home a little while ago, so I wasn't planning to buy it, but if I had been home all day, I definitely would have. Finding it on BR for free is all sorts of awesome right now, especially when there's a lull between now and the big college football games tonight.
