I think Chiefs. League usually likes to start off with a competitive in conference game. They'll save the rematch for SNF/MNF around midseason.

Atlanta. They had a Super Bowl rematch to begin the year this past season.

Jimmy G and the Texans. But no, really I think it will be the Falcons.

Atlanta, man. It's gotta be Atlanta, the NFL knows how to strike while the iron is hot.

I'm at 35% Atlanta, 50% KC, 15% Houston.

KC has made the playoffs 2 years in a row and is a threat to make it again. It will be a 'competitive' game on paper at least. The Super Bowl rematch will be saved for a prime time, Sunday night game. Houston is a "done that too many times" game.

*all of this changes if Houston trades for Jimmy G. or signs Tony Romo. then it's Houston.

I think Chiefs. It would be simply too cruel to the Falcons to have the rematch.

An outlier could be the Chargers ... first game for the LA version

Was it opening day 2005 when David Wells and Randy Johnson went toe to toe in the opening game of the year after the comeback?

This past season notwithstanding, doesn't the NFL usually try to have their cake and eat it too by scheduling a GOOD game, but not that level of good bc they know they're getting eyeballs opening night regardless of matchup?
