The Mount making the most of their 15 minutes
Great first half. Going to be really fun to see if they can keep it up. The 16 over the 1 is one of those sports moments I hope to see in my lifetime (unless it against UNC, obviously. That would break me).

Vermont just lost Steidl.

Edit - I missed it but the announcers said they wouldn't show it again, looked like a knee. He walked gingerly with a little help to the locker room.

It's so hard for me to get excited about first round matchups between so-so major conference programs. The fun is the smaller schools!
Gambling. My pool pays 30% of the pot to the leader after the first weekend. Xavier is one of my few first-round upsets. (MTSU and Wichita State aren't upsets.)

Well I love the pick. Maryland was a big disappointment this year.

Xavier has quietly been a really good tournament team in the last 20 years.

I guess not so quiet when they made the final eight a few times but I just looked back at their record and they really have had some great games.

God I hate Maryland. I never really had much antipathy toward any other ACC teams, but I hate that program forever and always

Just a little more on Xavier -- of their 24 tournament wins, 10 have been against lower seeds.

I just switched to the Villanova game and saw Kris Jenkins for the first time in 11 months and felt ill.

Melo Trimble has to be the favorite for the annual Gerry McNamara Award for "Player who you swore was a senior last season".
