He sucked. I never got his appeal. Glad he's gone. Let me sum up every show he's ever hosted on a Chicago Sports radio station.

"Well, that's enough talking about how much money I lost betting last night. Coming up next, we'll talk about what I'll be betting on tonight and how much money I will lose to discuss tomorrow on 670 The Score."

I remember there was a similar story about a pre-protest Kaepernick his hat backwards and the writer was flooded on Twitter with images of Brady/Ben/Rodgers all wearing a backwards hat.

Summer radio ratings are out for Boston. TSH is just kicking WEEI's ass even more. Here are the comparisons per Chad Finn.

Mornings: T&R 12.0, GHS 6.5
Middays: Z&B 13.7, D&K 4.4
Afternoon drive: F&M 16.0, OMF 3.7
Nights: J&A 8.1, WEEI 3.6(that's with the Red Sox games)

Considering M brings negative VORP every day, that's one sad statistic.

Spencer Hall and friends have a newsletter/podcast/media agglomeration called the Moon Crew. I don't follow college football, but I read them anyway because they are funny and insightful.

Prior to the Chung, Cannon, and Hightower opt outs in July, the team had 8M in cap space. They had 26M in dead cap money, ie, not allocated to players on the active roster.

Really surprised that Brandt is conflating payroll dollars with cap dollars.

Jac Collinsworth, Cris's son, is working for NBC sports as an on air guy. It's weird because he doesn’t just sound like his dad. He also does his dad's mannerisms. It's like he's doing a dead on impression.

Did anyone read Kevin Paul Dupont's unbelievably simple-minded column about how soccer is a great game but he just can't get past the flopping? I know the Globe's main readership is 50+ white guys and that is the perfect column for a bulk of that age range, but boy would it bother me if I was Frank Dell'Apa, someone who covers soccer for the Globe.

I tuned in early to Sunday Night Football this week and saw him throw it to Al and Chris. Without any further information beyond your post and about 15 seconds of on-air presentation, I knew immediately who he was.

Imagine having had the luck to be able to cover the greatest coach and QB of all time and this is the level you wind up operating at. No wonder he's playing out his "career" writing for a no-name blog.

I feel like pointing out the worst 8 years of BB's career is equivalent to the entire career success of Rex Ryan isn't quite the slam he thinks it is.

I'm confused, as Ron Borges was the biggest "Brady sucks, put Bledsoe back in!" guy back in 2001. If the Pats' success is all due to Brady, then why were you saying Brady shouldn't be the starter, Ron?

Ron Borges and the word "fact" should never be used in conjunction with one another, unless it's to state that it's a "fact" that he's a serial plagiarist...

It's all rooted in his disdain for Belichick. In 2001, Brady was Belichick's guy so therefore he was the wrong guy to start at QB. Now, with Brady gone, clearly he's the missing link.

Borges is a bitter curmudgeon who can't write anything original. I'd call him a has-been but that implies that he ever was.

Another Fox Radio whack job, Clay Travis, was bloviating the other day that the Bucs and Patriots seasons this year proved beyond all doubt that Brady carried Belichick all those years.

Of course, Travis is a very conservative talking hairdo who during the election has Trump on his show ... and since BB turned down the medal, well, you know ...

He also led the charge of mouth breathers that drove Tennessee to not hire Greg Schiano.

Tom Curran has, for some time, been busy with tasks such as drawing Brady's bathwater, shining his shoes, laying out his clothes and washing his vehicles. I'd love to know why and how his hatred of Belichick has grown so exponentially recently, because it absolutely has. He's assumed the role of trolling those who are Patriot fans first and Brady fans second. He also conveniently ignores the financial constraints that made it impossible for both Brady to return here and to.sign the type of surrounding talent necessary to be SB contenders.

I think it's fair to say that years of pitching questions that are usually more thoughtful than the norm to Belichick, only to have them constantly treated with all the respect that a baby affords a diaper may have something to do with his opinion of the Great Man.

Also, after years of columns and expert opinion that Belichick and the Pats were stifling Brady (and Gisele couldn't wait to get out of town), now all of a sudden Tom was begging to come back?

Used to really enjoy Curran's analysis, but I don't know if it was a more prominent role at NBC Sports Boston or what, but he's turned into Tom E. Takes the last couple of years, and especially the last 8-10 months.

If the Bucs dominate for the next 14 years with Brady at the helm AND the Patriots have a corresponding 14-year stretch of worse-than-mediocrity, then he still wont have a point.
But readers with gnat-like brainpower and attention spans pay his mortgage, so why should he bother at appeal to anyone else.

Rumors are that Tom Brady Sr used TC's to get his, don't know if they were also Tom Jr's, viewpoints out in the media world. If so, then TC definitely has a horse in this race and is not an unbiased media observer.

Agreed. I used to have great respect for Curran and his work. I know that he and his kids have had a personal and business relationship with Guerrero and his training/fitness methods and that seemingly made him sympathetic to Guerrero's and Brady's stance with BB. I've also thought that Belichick has generally been quite reasonable in his responses to Curran's questions, as opposed to Bill's admittedly frosty (to be polite) reactions to some others. Anyway, there's definitely been something going on which has caused a change in Curran and his approach to journalism and, at least to me, it hasn't been flattering.

I think Curran got sick of being labeled a homer by some of the more negative local Pats journalists and changed his tune in the last couple years. It wasn't long ago that he was defending the team vociferously against the likes of Felger.

His agenda is only relevant insofar as it colors his actual reporting, which he does very little of anymore as his livelihood has become more tied to how interesting and provocatively he crafts his personal takes and his TV/Twitter game. He is not a good source of actual information at this point, so his takes are no inherently better or worse than anybody else’s. He’s either persuasive or he isn’t.

For me, and just my take, I think Jeff Howe at The Athletic for awhile now has taken Curren's place as a reliable, objective analyst re: the Pats and the NFL. I'm surprised he hasn't been hired by NBCS Boston or NESN for their TV shows. Uh, wait...I'm actually not surprised...

Didn't Howe used to work for NESN?

I think Curran's podcasts are still worth a listen, as he, Perry, and Cassel generally limit the discussion to X's and O's or the state of the roster. He's also very good with the reporters/commentators who cover other teams. I suspect the NBCS Boston stuff is more of a would-be provocateur persona--and I admit I seldom if ever visit NBCS Boston, so I'm not subject to that side of Curran's career.
