Let's have a thread for live game commentary for the rest of the league. Keep the more thoughtful, non-reactionary stuff over in the General NBA thread, but the live ups and downs and League Pass miracles can go right here.

I for one will enjoy having yet another thing to mock the Lakers about.

Holy crap this game is absolutely slow motion compared to the Garden. Even the Knicks would blow out either of these teams from the looks of it.

Is this the place to order my LeBron/Bronny 1st NBA father son assist hoops 10x14 commemorative photo framed in regal Laker purple and gold? A treasured keepsake ready in time for the holidays.

Goes nicely in anyone's in-home Lebron shrine, alongside a "Heat Culture" yogurt, 2011-vintage.

Over the course of the season I think Minnesota will be better after the Towns trade, but it looks pretty clunky out there right now. Randle is kind of invisible.

Minnesota's offense does not look like that of a title contender so far. Lakers kind of working them on both ends.

It's really jarring to go from watching the Celtics' offensive system to watching this.

I think Randle only played in one preseason game, and the chemistry with him offensively is going to take a while.

KAT’s spacing as a 4 was CRITICAL to their primary lineups last year, and while White Donte’s movement shooting is a new element that will make up for some of that, it’s coming from a position where all of the Wolves last year were willing kick-out spot shooters.

Game of runs and all that, but it was pretty funny that the Lakers momentum came to an end immediately when the Jamesi came into the game.

Love this analysis: JJ Reddick said that in practice Bronny "has shown glimpses of being able to contribute"

First game on the road with new key pieces to rotation facing a team that returns entire team intact. It’s why I didn’t play the Wolves here…..and the exact reason I did play the Celtics.

The Wolves throttled Denver were so physical and intense. Not that you would expect that level every night, but watching them get really overpowered by LA was jarring.

Will be interesting to see how much fire they have in the second half.

Not only just the one preseason game, he hasn't played a real game since January. He's got some skills that Towns doesn't (perimeter defense, playmaking, overall toughness) but it is definitely going to take awhile for him to fit in here.

What is funny is I see JJ Redick already playing the political games and running out 10 guys in the first half, and will tell the media in the PC that it's a long season and he wants to spread out minutes. When the truth is he knows he has to play his thirteenth tenth man a nominal amount of minutes or else, yet not alienate the first handful of bench guys. Cam Reddish is no great shakes but he is probably the only one that can take real offense to getting a DNP-Coach's Decision in favor of Bronny. (Although ANYONE who makes an NBA roster would be privately ripshit about sitting behind him.)

A frothy -5 for Bronny.
Got some cardio in, missed a couple shots, got bullied by Randle, blocked by Gobert, and hade a nice defensive possession on Ant. Just 3 minutes, is he done for the night? Will he appear in more games between now and the G-league opener in a couple weeks?

Ha, Ant wouldn’t even look at a wide open DiVincenzo, just drove the ball into a sea of defenders and tossed up a tough shot.
He is unbelievably quick and bouncy, but that paint is looking awfully crowded once he gets by his man. If he's not hitting mid-range shots at a high rate, he's gonna have some tough times with Minnesota's spacing.

Anthony Edwards has a very high vertical leap, so I'm told he is capable of reaching a level of play that Tatum can never hit.

Exactly. The one noticeable issue I could see is having two players who can stop the ball in the halfcourt and need the ball to be effective.

I thought Gobert was a great defender and rebounder, how did the Brow get 36-16?

Nice contract, Wolves

DNP-CD unless Redick is emptying his bench in a blowout is what I'd expect. That was a nice stop on Ant though.

If the Lakers are struggling and Bronny is getting playing time, it will come up.
There isn't a world where Bronny is getting any playing time based on what he's shown in SL and preseason so we don't have to worry about that. That isn't Redick's style.

It ain't up to Redick, though. The fact Bronny played last night makes this crystal clear.

I can't be the only one here who is making the Grizzlies their LP team. Good game in Janos Land tonight vs the Jazz.

Just loaded up LP’s return of Sicko Mode (you can watch 4 games at once again), and happy to see that Orlando is beating the Heat by 20 in Miami. Warms the cockles of my heart to see Heat Culture struggle.

Edit: now it’s 30, glorious…

I watched some of Bulls-Pellies even without Zion, for some reason, and NOLA’s rookie center, Yves Missi, looks surprisingly functional. That could be huge, given that Theis is the only other center in the roster.

Nah, everything he's been handed thus far was leading up to last night. He was drafted, given a guaranteed contract and force-fed minutes in SL and preseason solely for the purpose of getting him ready to play next to his Dad. That's now happened, and I'd be truly shocked if he plays in another game this season (in the NBA) in which the outcome is in doubt.

That was last night for the one game. Everyone knew that was coming. From here on out it is 100% Redick's call. There is a reason why we only saw Bronny for 3 minutes last night. That's it, that's all. When does G-League practice begin?

Perhaps. I think Redick signed up to be a pawn; you have a higher view of his level of decision making. We'll see---not just on Bronnie, but generally. And I like Redick, but I think he knows what he signed up for

I disagree. Redick is cut from the same cloth as Mazzulla. As much as the media and fans want to say he's here to answer to LeBron I could not disagree more. That isn't his style at all.
