Told my wife this story.

Her response: You’re not allowed to be with strippers? Is it a moral clause or is this covid related?

She’s the best.

Ray Lewis can kill a guy and get a national TV gig. Pierce gets fired for hiring strippers and recording it on Instagram. Cancel culture gone wild, I guess.

I'm hoping @HomeRunBaker has the right take.

ESPN could always re-hire him in 6 months. Didn't Disney recently fire and re hire a comedian who made some jokes on his twitter a long time ago?

Somewhere
I was wrong and this country is more fvcked up than even I thought.
I mean, this is not exactly a new development. This stuff always got you fired, especially at a place like Disney.

Bummed that Pierce is going Barstool (possibly) though. Whatever, it’s his life.

Given his response, sounds like he wanted out and decided to go out with a bang. A viral posting of strippers, poker, and booze probably isn't going to hurt his future prospects. We live in a age of clicks, views and the notoriety of the famous.

Its another sign that this forum in particular is a bit out of touch with what is going on in the league and the culture. Pierce didn't break any laws but most major publicly traded companies would part ways with an employee if they were engaged in similar behaviors and it went viral - especially if they are a public face of the entity. Its not exactly a new development either - I think had the same sort situation occurred even a decade ago, the results would likely be the same.

Edit: Changed phrasing -don't want to get into a debate. Apologies.

Right. I remember the Bob Ryan suspension for his comments on Jason Kidd's wife. That was 2006.

I don't think that anyone is truly all that shocked at the outcome.

I was shocked to finally view video clips after hearing the "omg did you see what Paul Pierce posted!!!" chatter and see amateur PG-13 rated rap video stock footage as the actual "what Paul did" content.

Optics are optics, plus it's the mouse. And if Pierce wanted to keep the job, posting that shit is pretty fucking stupid.
