Christie's a morbidly obese old man who may have multiple other co-morbidities. Healthy young people being hospitalized for this is nearly unheard of.
He specifically brought up Christie so I responded to it.
But this doesn't belong here, and there is now a thread in V&N for this discussion.

do you crawl all over each other without masks?
Yeah, no I know. I am not a big fan of what the NFL is doing and I apologize if it came across that way. My point is that the NFL made a determination that they were going to get through the season basically no matter what. That was the plan. It is a given that there will be cases. It was even a given that some teams might have enough cases that they would be at a severe competitive disadvantage in certain weeks. In fact it was even a given that they weren’t going to closely follow CDC guidelines and they were willing to put people at risk for COVID who would be quarantined in other circumstances.

This is what the NFL is doing.

I’m in healthcare. We have different guidelines than other folks so people who are exposed come back to work but if they were in a different line of work they would be told to stay home for 14 days.

The NFL clearly has adopted protocols that have nothing to do with regular CDC guidelines and that’s why some players opted out.

Again, not defending it EXCEPT I have said all along IF you decide to start the season at all it only ever made sense if you were going to take actual risks with the health of your players, coaches and other employees to get through it. And here we are. Of course they are going to plow through.

And do we really going to debate this again, Tim?
Every time people post "why are they playing?"

It's been reported the Patriots think the infections are most likely not happening in their building. And we've yet to have proof of an in game transmission.

About the game . . .
I read somewhere recently that the Broncos run defense up the middle is pretty decent, but on the edges, they are terrible, like bottom-5 bad. Against the Raiders, and others, the Pats showed some excellent ability to run outside the tackles. I think Harris and Taylor may feast out there today.

Well, it’ll have to be just Harris. Taylor is among the inactives.
the bigger story is that Hoyer is out so Stidham is the backup

This is all pretty crazy, but purely as a football fan, I’m incredibly thirsty for a full-squad (meaning Cam and Gilmore) version of the Patriots. It feels like their last real game was 4 months ago to me.
Like I said, so excited to watch a full squad game. Can’t wait for this game to start.
