'04 DVDs had the WS film, but not the '07 ones.
The '13 DVD list all 6 games and 2 bonus dvd's.  Gotta think one of them is the official WS dvd.  Not having games #2 and #6 from the LCS kinda sucks.

Somewhat off topic, but am I the only one who enjoys watching Game 3 of the '04 ALCS? Listening to the (premature) post-mortem, and watching the mfy all giddy thinking it's over when you know what's on the horizon is really fun for me.

Back on topic, I think I'm just gonna get the single Blu Ray this year. While I love the team, I don't think I consider any of those full games essential re-watching material.

It looks like we'll know the contents on 12/3, but some stuff indicates that it will have game 6 of the ALCS as one of the two bonus discs.

The Sox's in-house production department is doing a nice job with creating highlight clips, based solely on fan video footage.  Here's one of Victorino's ALCS G6 Grand Slam, including a sec of my son taken with my iPhone:

Nice that your son got in there!  Shane has been sharing this with FB & Twitter.  I showed him the picture of the four Sox airborne with the safe signs after Gomes scored on Shane's double in Game Six of the WS.  He's still pretty pumped by all of it.

Did anyone get the Red Sox World Series set yet?

I'm still wondering about the film being included or not...

Thanks!

The set will be dropping tomorrow, Tuesday Dec 3rd.  If you ordered pre-sale it should be delivered on Tuesday.  It will be available in stores also on Tuesday Dec 3rd.  Costco and BJs will have the best prices.  The "film" went of sale last week, the day after the premier.  I would doubt it would be included in the boxed set as MLB would like you to buy everyting.  I am guessing there will be parade footage on one of the bonus DVDs.

That pic is all kinds of awesome. It looks like the Sox and ump are all flapping their arms in mock bird fashion at Molina.  Sweet.

OH!
Just the film came out so far...I thought they both had. My bad!

Any thoughts or reviews of the film?  How does it compare to the '04 and '07 versions?

Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread yet, but if you are an MLB.TV subscriber, you can still watch all postseason games. any game during the season actually. and I believe without blackout restrictions.

For my money, all of the MLB films have too many close ups and odd, artsy angles, rather than highlights that clearly show what's happening in the games.  That's their nature but I still find it to be a little annoying.  This one is the same in that regard.

With that said, it was very enjoyable and there were a lot of nice touches.  Private moments, etc.

The focus on David Ross was a bit much, though.  He was on camera a lot.  I love the guy but even if he was the best player on the team, he's just one guy.

Last bitch: They force feed a lot of adds on you.

These are high class problems, I know.

Amazon is on back order.  Is this a NESN product that they plan on making a profit from or does that belong to MLB?  Someone seriously screwed up not making this available on line just weeks before Christmas.

Did they not think this would be popular with fans outside the NE geo?  What about transplanted Red Sox fans?  This has the potential to be their best selling item since 07 and possibly 04 and they decide to distribute it exclusively at BJ's, Olympia Sports, Stop and Shop and Walmarts in New England.

Someone ought to lose their job over this level of incompetence.

How does NESN market this outside of New England, though?  It's easy enough to cover the home territory through ads on NESN, in-store displays, etc., but what about the rest of the country?  None of the stores here in the Syracuse area are even carrying the MLB World Series video (I've looked all over for it).

MLB.com, NESN.com, Redsox.com, google adds, SEO, there are limitless ways they could have marketed and distributed this better.

Especially given how like-able and engaging this years team was.

Well that sucks, I got my pre-order in earlier in the week so hopefully I'll still get one this week.  If not I'll be super pissed I used amazon when I could have gotten it at the store.

Ordered the World Series film for my dad for Christmas. I'll wait to watch it with him (I haven't been in the same country as him for any of the WS wins).

Hopefully NESN's comes back soon.

Interesting...  I was able to purchase the 2004 NESN video online.  I'm confused as to why the 2013 version is not available

Has anyone actually gotten the NESN dvd yet?  I'm still backordered at Amazon.  And I checked a couple local places this weekend,  Stop and Shop and Olympia sports, and it did not seem like they had received it yet.   I'm not sure I believe it was actually released to anybody.

I got the DVD as an early Xmas gift, but I'd really like to exchange it somewhere for the Blu-Ray.  If anyone has seen or does see the Blu version in the Lowell-Nashua-Manchester region, give me a shout.

And it ships in 7-10 days, which seems par for the course with every online retailer.  Bullmoose, who's listed on the NESN press release page as a retailer, doesn't even have it listed on their website.

This is the 4th season-retrospective home video release NESN has done in the last decade (don't forget about Cowboy Up!) - you'd think they'd have basic distribution down pat at this point.

Damn it sucks being in Yankee country sometimes... I am from and in Syracuse as well.  My mom and dad are transplants from the Boston area.

I just bought the Band of Bearded brothers from Amazon, they seem to have decent stock. The other films I haven't pursued yet.

I pre-ordered from Amazon and fully expected to have the NESN DVD by Christmas. I checked my account yesterday for tracking information and there's now a note that the "order won't ship until after December 25th". WTF? Major fail.

Particularly with all the ex-pats outside of New England, what about a NESN licensing agreement with iTunes to make it available as a purchased download?  This is 2013 -- why is this so difficult?

NESN is clearly still operating like it is 1990.  Biggest wasted asset in sports media history.

I pre-ordered the NESN blu ray from Barnes and Noble on Thursday, 12/12. I just got an email saying it processed and I'd have it in 1-3 days. Still hard to believe what a pain in the neck it's been to get one of these in the Enfield/Springfield area.

Some great GoPro footage from Shane Victorino and Mike Carp for the on-field and locker room celebration after the World Series along with some great clips from the parade

Just got a chromecast, this was absolutely awesome to watch on my TV. The shot of victorino running in from the dugout to join the celebration was especially great.

NESN pays absolutely nothing for their people in the studio. If there's any complaint it's to have them pay their existing people more and have not have so few of them.

Just to be clear, because by the end of the holidays I want every 2013 Red Sox DVD known to man ...

We all currently have these choices:

1. The A&E collection of games: http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=28732986
2. The championship film (hosted by Ben Affleck): http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=28732906
3. The NESN Band of Bearded Brothers: http://mshop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=30544286

And that would be it?

From comments it looks like A&E didn't include any of the ALCS/ALDS games except for Game 6 of ALCS on some Bonus DVD.  Anyone know of a way to get all games?

I received the A&E set on Blu-Ray.  I am very disappointed with the set.  One is required to sit through about 5 minutes of commercials before watching a single pitch.

The set only comes with the 7 world series games and game 6 of the ALCS.

I pre-ordered it on Amazon soon after it got linked there -- around 12/11 or 12 and got it a couple of days ago.  Haven't watched it yet, because it's a gift.

A disc of a game that wasn't even televised and you're not happy about it?   :nsmith:  Seriously, though, I'm glad I didn't buy the whole set and just got the world series film.

Game 7 and game 7? Are you talking 2013 here? 1986 was the last time Sox had two game 7s in postseason.
