A healthy Collins in coverage closing fast on those Manning ducks would really good. Here's hoping we get some word on that injury soon.

I have a feeling that the bet would then be considered my real prediction and I would subsequently lose. My ability to be incorrect is diabolical.
But if every prediction you've ever had is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.

Hightower on now with the WEEI mid-day show, so that's an unofficial good sign.
Hoping so. I think this injury has shown who is the most valuable player is on defense. Need him at 100%

Belichick could put Venus de Milo in at CB and he wouldn't concede an arm injury.
"Look, what he has is healthy. You're saying the arms aren't there and that's an injury. I mean, if someone is short we don't put them on the injury report as 'probable, height' do we? Rule is, if they receive medical treatment on something we report it. We didn't do any medical treatment this week on Venus, so we didn't list anything. That's the rules. You need to talk to the league about why the rules are what they are"

Did Hightower get hurt Sunday? Gronk? What am I missing?

Given the Collins injury, I wonder if we see him in TE coverage with Chung cheating up for the run.

After Hightower's "late, horse collar" tackle of Alex Smith I saw him pointing at his left bicep in what I thought at the time was a strange way (not posing, more like signaling to the sideline) and had a bad feeling. Wasn't that a problem in the SB?

Hightower, according to reporters, re-aggravated the knee injury in the 4th quarter. He sat out a few plays, but finished the game on the field. I would say he's fine. However, the statuses of Collins, Jones, and Mayo are much more worrisome.

This is pure gold.

After hearing about Gronk's knee and back it's fair to wonder how he's doing after the game.
After watching Gronk look awesome the week after 20 reporters said 20 different things about him, it's fair to question whether BB fed the media a bunch of BS.

As for Hightower, he looked stronger to me in the second half than the first. He injured his shoulder last year, btw, not his bicep.

Collins appears to be ok, Mayo I don't really care about, though Jones seems to be the big question. It's more of a Sheard game Sunday, but obviously it would be great to have Jones on the field. None of these injuries has the impact of a Harris Jr., though.

I'm not sure BB fed anyone anything directly about Gronk during the week, did he? While it is possible legit Pats sources fed most of those reports, I don't know that it is more likely than not. To me, the conclusion is that most things NFL reporters run with have sketchy sourcing and are not that reliable.

This is completely consistent with other media-intense stories relating to the Pats that we've seen during 2015-16....

Collins appears to be ok, .
Is this true? Do we have info other than the Mike Loyko tweet? Collins is so important to this team and to this game and "strained oblique" sounds ominous. I don't know if I would believe anybody saying anything anyway, but if one of you guys could make me feel better about Collins' availability that would be awesome.

Kyed and Hannable both said they saw Collins in the locker room after the game and he appeared fine, moving normally, no noticeable discomfort. Hill had an article up saying Collins was expected to play yesterday, and now there is the Loyko tweet. Maybe he's hurt badly, but signs are positive at this point.

Bleed, Harris Jr. playing limited snaps with limited effectiveness is massive. It puts Roby/??? on Edelman and moves everyone else down the chain. Roby is no slouch, but I highly doubt he can handle Edelman, especially inside. That also leaves I Have No Clue on Amendola/Martin and makes it more difficult for Denver to pull Talib off onto Gronk.

At one point the LBs were Freeny, Fleming and Watson.
That would be very, very bad in Denver.

I'm sure Collins and Hightower will be questionable Sunday so I'll feel better when the inactive list comes out on Sunday and neither of them are on it.

Why do we have any concerns about Hightower playing? He was on the field 85% of snaps. I know he usually goes wire-to-wire but KC had the ball for a million snaps so its not exactly a shocker that he had to take a couple of breathers.

I don't have any concerns of him not playing. He played the last part of the season last year with a torn labrum. He's going to be on the field.

This seems excessively optimistic. We all know a few tweets from whomever doesn't mean squat, and Collins moving around fine in the locker room (if that is the case) means little, as well. If he was in such great shape, why wasn't he playing in the game? Oblique injuries as baseball fans know are pains in the ass. Given the physical demands of playing LB (granted it doesn't have the specific torque issues of swinging a bat or throwing a pitch, but still....) I'll remain worried about Collins until we see him both on the field and playing with something close to his usual effectiveness. Until then, there's little to be said optimistically or pessimistically....not like there'll be reliable health reports in the interim.

Id guess Mayo, Jones, Collins from least likely to play to most likely to play (obviously Mayo not as important) and agree that we don't know if any of them will play Sunday. I think worrying about guys like Gronk or Hightower or Stork or Edelman based on what we know now is excessive.

Even if Jones and Collins play, seems like they're going to be somewhat risky bets to finish the game. Hopefully no Eric Alexander redux coming Sunday, but certainly a risk given the injury situation.

Can't at least one thread stick to its topic? Or do we need to start another one where folks can get updated on the latest about Collins, Gronk, etc.

NFLN is labeling Collins' injury as "stomach," not "back." Strained ab muscle, maybe?

To many of us, it looks like PSM is excited about "unsupported video."

I believe he was posting this tweet from Mike Reiss just now:

"Patriots beginning walkthrough practice; more mental work than physical work. Jamie Collins, Chandler Jones present"

Which certainly merits a "giddy up"

(For those on the SOSH app: Twitter from Kyed says: "Jamie Collins, Chandler Jones and Julian Edelman among Patriots present for practice. Tre' Jackson the LONE absence for the walk-through."
Giddy up.
My pessimistic take on this is that at this time of year, everyone is going to be at practice unless they need to be in a hospital. Let's see who was participating in what fashion when the injury report comes out later today.

Will be surprised if everyone in question isn't limited and then questionable on the injury report

Thanks for posting the text of the tweet!

Also, I don't think this is correct. If guys are really limited and hobbling, they are not present for the media portion of practice (and likely not practicing). This is a good omen for their ability to play on Sunday -- but as we saw against Kansas City, it certainly doesn't guarantee they'll be able to make it through the entire game.

Everyone who was on the report heading into KC looked fine during the game. These are two new injuries. I'm still optimistic we're dealing with tweaks that BB saw no need to risk up 2 scores. They did all imaging yesterday, presumably, and neither of them are on IR.
