Until the BB/TB era, that "Squish the Fish" AFCCG was the greatest game ever. I had it recorded on VHS for years before finally losing it in a move.

Thanks, j-man!

Watching this. As they go through the pre-game stuff, they show the two quarterbacks: Tony Eason and Marc Wilson. Here were their stat lines:

Eason: 168-299 (56.2%), 2,156 yds, 11 td, 17 int, 67.5 rating
Wilson: 193-388 (49.7%), 2,608 yds, 16 td, 21 int, 62.7 rating

Imagine two guys like that starting in an NFL divisional round game now?

Yes that was ONE of the two QBs (and I immediately thought of him and was going to mention him but I specifically said *two guys*). The other ones in those games PM played in were...much better.

Amazing that he won it all that year. Even his postseason numbers sucked.

51-92 (55.4%), 539 yds, 5.6 y/a, 2 td, 1 int, 75.4 rating

In his three playoff games that year (2015 season, 2016 postseason, for anyone not immediately getting T4W's reference), he faced:

Roethlisberger: 68% comp, 3,938 yds, 21 td, 16 int, 94.5 rating
Brady: 64.4% comp, 4,770 yds, 36 td, 7 int, 102.2 rating
Newton: 59.8% comp, 3,837 yds, 35 td, 10 int, 99.4 rating (plus 636 yds, 10 td rushing)

I moved to Philly in 71 but stayed a Pats Fan always, through through the good and bad. To me beating the Fins in the Orange Bowl was almost as good as winning a Super Bowl. That place and later Joe Robbie were a chamber of horrors for the Pats. The 85 title game was only the 2nd time the Pats beat the Fins in The Orange Bowl up to that point. What was it like in the Boston area? Was it almost as crazy as the Red Sox final game in 67? If some of you remember. Was there celebrating in the streets, Kenmore Square? Just curious. The Fins are still my no.1 hated team in the AFC. I'm older and remember how arrogant Shula and the Fins could be. And coming back from 17-7 over the Raiders was great also. Millen and Long and the Raiders thought they were so much better and underestimated the Pats.

I had forgotten the “tonight a dynasty is born” quote from the Rams player in the tunnel from super bowl xxxvi.

No one could have believed how right he was.

I wonder if he kept the monkey’s paw.

Reads threads backwards
Have other teams done this? Do you only dedicate the resources to this if you're the Pats? Watching the footage, the economics look to me like:

Hiring 4-6 cameramen (don't start on that please) for each playoff game as an end-around the broadcast footage. Incidentally, it adds a nice BTS feel.

They own the rights to the radio broadcast already (right?)

And some VO.

All sunk costs if no SB wins, but, per my first statement - decent bet with decent payoff?
