Missing fairways and short putts is usually a good way to lose.
NBC's new Open graphics package omits the flags where the players are from. I miss them.

Maybe he will pull it out, but Kuchar has done nothing today to make me believe he can step through the opening that is left for him.

Hopefully the rain comes and the wind freshens to 30+ mph for the next couple hours

If Kuchar wins this, Joe House will be on one of the hottest gambling streaks I remember.

Edit: House has a golf podcast and is pals with Bill Simmons in case anyone doesn't know who he is. Picks like 5 golfers every major and has hit 5 of the last 6 most on long odds. Kuchar was 50-1 per the last podcast I heard.

It was a nice chip. It's one thing I hate on these courses, same thing with where Kuch ended up with his tee shot. You are so much beholden to where the crowd stands. Obviously if the crowd isn't where he puts that ball it is an almost unplayable shot where you are very fortunate if you get it within 30 feet

Can't you get the same thing on courses anywhere (crowds trample down the rough and give you a much easier lie)?

true, I guess I mean just the PGA courses in general. You end up with scenarios where being 10 or 15 yards off the fairway is often a far better situation than being 5 yards off the fairway

Now I have that shot in my bag

Gotcha.

Jordan has been making me nervous not teeing the ball high enough with the lunchbox size driver head, and sure enough, he scuffs the ground a bit and way, way right. Johnny thinks the clubhead was way open anyway.

And now the crowd saves him at least a stoke by finding his ball here, which would have been lost if it was just Jordan and officials looking for it

I think it's even worse on this type of course where the long grass is a primary defense. I hate when the long grass isn't long grass anymore.
