I like the timing. Something quiet and peaceful on tv overnight while I watch my mother. Anyone know who the marquee groups are going to be for today/Friday?

edit: in a pre round interview with Zach Johnson (2015 Open Champion) they just talked to him about sharing a house for the third year in a row with Jordan Spieth (2017 Open Champion), Justin Thomas, Kevin Kisner (current leader), Ricky Fowler, Jason Dufner, and Jimmy Walker. That's kind of awesome.

Zach Johnson just birdied 18 to take the lead at -6. Rory is in great shape heading into the weekend. DJ misses the cut, the first #1 to do so since....Luke Donald. Stenson had a bad day but will probably just make the cut. JT having a miserable day(3 consecutive double) and might need to finish par, par to make the cut. Russell Henley threw up an 80, Jimmy Walker a 78.
Tiger is +1

Tiger walks in a birdie at 11. He’s been all over the place off the tee today. If he can get in at -2 or so I think he’ll be in good shape.

Tiger's iron into the par 5 was pretty much spectacular. 235, right down the pipe, to about 10-15 feet. His swing looks really, really good with long and mid-irons. Not quite feeling it with the shorter clubs.

The fairway bunkers are 1-shot penalties, he’s not going to take them on. He doesn’t really have a controlled miss with the driver. He tends to spray it when he misses and there are holes where that beings OB in play.

Here comes Rickie

Not sure what Kisner was thinking trying to blast it on to the green from that chunky lie. That shot had water written all over it.
What had to be interesting to hear is , and I kid you not

Jean Van de Velde was on 18 calling Kisner mishap for French TV

4 of the top 5 in the world in danger of missing the cut here.
True, but I'd take Spieth and Rory ahead of Rose and Rahm any day. Frankly, the entire Top 5 in golf right now is not compelling. DJ is cool but boring. Rose, eh. Rahm, psycho. Justin Thomas, milquetoast. And Brooks, jacked, but also without personality.

A few bad takes there.

Rahm being a psycho is great. You never know when he is going to explode.

I think JT shows more personality than the majority of tour players. I think he shows more personality than Spieth, for instance.

Brooks is kind of boring, I’ll give you that.

Edit: The Pat Perez take is a good one. He is awesome.

Wow, Rose birdies 18 to likely make the cut. Good for him, not an easy birdie at all.

Although we’re 16 mins into live coverage and I think I’ve seen 5 shots. NBC is the worst.

We're gonna see some very low rounds today. Opportunity for some folks at or just below par to be right in contention.

Tiger leads the PGA in 3rd round scoring. Good chance for him today.

2 putt birdie from 100 feet on 6 gets Tiger to -2.

Subplot toTiger’s week- Needs around a top 5 finish to get into the OWGR top 50 to qualify for Firestone.

Spieth has like 10-15 feet for eagle on 1after pulling driver.

Tiger bombs one in on 9 to get to -3.

Edit: Also a strategy change, 3 drivers already for Tiger. Putting the gas pedal down.

Tiger just rolled in a 30-footer to get to -3. Dead center with pace.

Spieth bombed his drive to 10 feet from the first tee. GOLF HAPPENING!

Edit: Tiger's feeling it today. Just poked a driver like it's nothing.
