Some sweet, sweet tears in the Chiefs edition of WYTS from Drew Magary in Deadspin today.
https://deadspin.com/why-your-team-sucks-2019-kansas-city-chiefs-1837513719

Kyle:

“Offside, defense, number 55. Lined up in the neutral zone. Five yard penalty and we will replay third down.”
Scott:

Interception! We’re going to the supe...........FUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anon:

When we picked off Brady to seal the game my first instinct was to look for yellow on the field. This team never fails in that department. Dee Ford. Dee Fucking Ford. Dee Motherfucking Ford.

It really was such a humongous choke by Ford. Lining up in the neutral zone is such a bad error, easily avoidable, and it literally turned a victory into a loss. Looking back, he should have been the MVP of the Super Bowl.

"Eric Berry couldn't cover the opening riff of Smoke on the Water," is a good one.

One of my all-time favorite fanbase complaints is that Ford deserved a verbal warning. It’s just sort of a sad little argument.

If the refs would just let us know that our incredibly crappy defense, frustrated by an inability to get to the QB, is now trying to get an edge and in so doing is grossly fucking up the biggest play of the season...well that would only be fair.

click-through on the link for this part:

Your quarterback: Reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes, who talks like an Alex Jones impression
I had never heard Mahomes speak, and... holy shit.

also, "Kyle" in the emails is either all the same one guy, or just a pseudonym for stuff Magary wishes someone had wrote to him.

Didn’t realize Constanza was a Chiefs fan (show George, not our own).

On the replay, you can see the official staring at Ford with his hand on the flag. The minute the ball is snapped, he throws it. It was a no doubter. As Chiefs fan Brian says, "he lined up so far offsides it was clearly visible from space"

I also enjoyed this from David,

The Kansas City Royals drafted Dan Marino and John Elway.
The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Todd Blackledge and Brodie Croyle.

Omg that is an all time great article, made even better by the comments, which are pure 24 karat gold. Holy crap that was fun to read.

The best comment was the one where the guy talks about his friends texting him that his recently passed father was watching from heaven. Then he ends it with "im glad my dad was dead, because Dee Ford would have killed him."

That just sent me down a lovely rabbit hole of AFCCG highlights. I had not remembered all the 3rd and long conversions in OT.

Game really had no business being that close.

The at sounds about right to me for current players. And they picked NE to win the Super Bowl.

So, not sure what your point is.

Brady has been better than Rodgers in basically every statistical category every season since 2014. Since then Rodgers has had more touchdowns once, more yards per game once, higher rating once. Other than interceptions, Brady has him beat in essentially everything, plus Rodgers has been hurt a ton. Rodgers only has one season with a top 5 QB rating since 2014. I don’t care about Brady being 6, am fine with everyone else picked above him, but Rodgers being 4th is a joke and a continuation of the constant ballwashing he receives without really deserving it

A lot of pundits seem to ignore that Rodgers for quite a long period of time now, has been a very good but not necessarily unbelievable QB, yet he is still referred too as a gold standard for QB play.

This is exactly what I was trying to get across. He’s extremely gifted, and his numbers the past few years have been very good, but anyone who puts him as the second best at the position hasn’t been watching the past few seasons. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a monster season but you can’t rank him that highly based on that

Rodgers last 5 seasons: 71 g, 1615-2537 (63.7%), 18747 yds, 7.4 y/a, 150 td, 28 int, 101.0 rating, 42-28-1, 0 conf champ, 0 SB champ, 1 MVP
Brady last 5 seasons: 76 g, 1826-2789 (65.5%), 21365 yds, 7.7 y/a, 158 td, 37 int, 101.9 rating, 59-17-0, 4 conf champ, 3 sb champ, 1 MVP, 2 SB MVP

Year by year passer ratings...

2014
Rodgers: 112.2
Brady: 97.4

2015
Rodgers: 92.7
Brady: 102.2

2016
Rodgers: 104.2
Brady: 112.2

2017
Rodgers: 97.2
Brady: 102.8

2018
Rodgers: 97.6
Brady: 97.7

So in 2014, Rodgers had a better passer rating. But in each of the last four seasons, Brady's passer rating has been better than Rodgers'.

In fairness, what’s the “short term”? I’m hoping for one good year.

And that’s asking — he transitions well and processes the playbook quickly; the Brady magic Silver references kicks in; he gets fed to his satisfaction; no major social media screw ups that compromise the locker room; and probably, a magical team run he does not want to disturb and he is a part of. Oh, and that Bill overlooks some relatively minor things, just as he did with Ochocinco.

Then we get through a season. Reavis redux. That’s not asking for a little.

Warning: FFB story

I’m in a keeper league that I joined as an expansion team this year. I have no chance to win this year so my entire goal is to maneuver my roster enough to get three good keepers so I can compete for next year. I was able to get Melvin Gordon a week ago. A few days ago, I offered Adam Thielen for Antonio Brown to put out a feeler for when Brown’s owner was willing to cut bait. Within two minutes of his release, he accepted the trade offer. Everyone in the league started teasing me about how, as a Pats fan, I must have inside information and how they expect Brown to somehow end up in NE. The group text was awesome starting around 6:00 when the news came out. These guys, some who are Steelers fans, are absolutely convinced that I have an insider in Foxborough feeding me information.

This organization has screwed with the minds of the league for so long that I am literally considered a part of the conspiracy. That, right there, is what brokenness looks like.

That is some haterade concentrate right there.

Look, I don’t blame Brown for wanting to play for the Patriots. Who wouldn’t want to jump from the three-wheeled red wagon that is Oakland into the Lamborghini Murciélago that is New England? (License plate: DFLT THS.) But the way it all went down — Brown sowing chaos at every turn, raising the stakes every day like a player shoving more chips into the center of the table until the Raiders had no choice but to fold … why, it’s almost enough to make you think something was afoot. But that’s crazy talk, right?
Love it.

Yes. I will accept and graciously wallow in all the contempt 30 fan bases want to throw at the Patriots over this signing. But screw the Chiefs; they sold their soul chasing a ring this year and their fans should shut the fuck up. Their nutjob receiver broke a kids arm. Come on.
But Andy Reid is supposedly only motivated by a desire to make Hill a better man.

And God is going to get the Patriots for THIS??? This is what religious folk think their God does?

Lolololol go to hell.

Those Whitlock tweets are gold. Andy Reid would make him a better man? People have collectively lost their shit and it is glorious.
