We've put together a podcast project over at ITP that we are rolling out over the next six weeks. We went out and grabbed experts on each of the 32 teams, and allowed them to assemble a front office from people they know in the media, former players, former coaches, and pretty much whoever they want. Then we gave them 15 minutes to discuss who they wanted to take for their pick. We'll be rolling out one of these a day, but figured I'd drop this in here so you could see what we're doing.

Our thinking is that had it not been for DFG, the Pats would have had more in the tank and would have won the whole thing. We're also going to have it be 15 minutes of just bitching about how there is no pick.

I thought we were just gonna read the DFG thread aloud for 15 minutes.

THIS IS OUR FUCKIN DRAFT PICK
That actually came up in the office when discussing the plan; we knew no one (here) would be happy if we ignored it (as we have with all other things DFG) and there have been many, many humorous suggestions for whom we could get to "yell" the line.

No shit, Dogman2 was on the shortlist. As was @SeoulSoxFan, because we love the idea of having either of them involved in any way with ITP.

The idea that I most liked (and was vetoed) was to show @AlNipper49 an hour of Bernie videos then have HIM do the yelling but his heart wouldn't be in it purely for the love of the pick. If someone wants to analyze the DFG thread and isolate who would provide the most anger/volume ratio, I can at least guarantee a fair hearing before Judge Zodda. However, the judge is going to need a very, very good audition tape and overall effort to consider anyone's candidacy at this late hour.

Having read his writing for years AND been subjected to his rantings in person, the only answer here is @Smiling Joe Hesketh if you are going for maximum rage.

If you want to go clever, have @NickEsasky do it in the voice of Sterling Archer/H. Jon Benjamin.

You should bite the bullet and get Morgan Freeman to read the DFG thread. Heck, he might be so entertained, he might do it for free.

Brilliant. I'm pitching SJH at the next meeting. No one fits better - great suggestion TFP.

BIG MARKET TEASE: Behind the Pylon, a podcast featuring an extended talk with someone, on some random topic, will launch shortly after baseball season begins. The first guest is a main board legend (who hates football, FTR) and is known more for his Simpsons avatar and visual prowess than his "board" presence.

However.... if you (and this means YOU, SoSH) are interested in chatting about your love of sport/football/baseball and have interesting stories, please send me a PM. We will be recruiting (and maybe landing?) @SeoulSoxFan to talk being an international Jets hater, @Dogman2 to chat about Montana Grizzlies football and red colored fields, @Myt1 to talk parenting and the Bruins, and anyone else recommended or interested. It'll be fun. Anonymity will be granted to any who request it.

Heck, we'd love to get international man of mystery @The Four Peters to join the podcast at some point, if his schedule allows ;-)

Back to the ITP Mock Draft War Room for a second.... Wanted to bump to share how much I'm enjoying this series and how well-prepared it is.

I haven't had much draft enthusiasm year, both due to the stolen first-rounder and the fact I'm out of the country and out of the mix this spring, and I figured taking a break from putting too many hours into trying to know the unknowable might not me a bad change of pace for a year -- but this series is absolutely dragging me back in.

A huge thanks for listening. We have some really great people lined up to run teams over the next few weeks, and we're really excited as we start to get past the first few picks and into areas where there is more ambiguity regarding talent level and fit. It's been a blast to put together, and glad to hear you're enjoying what we're doing.

Mugsy, glad you're digging the series. We're just getting rolling with it. Some great guest GMs coming up this week. We've got Dan Hatman of the Scouting Academy making the picks for both Baltimore and San Francisco, with some good guests helping him out. On Wednesday Ross Tucker of SiriusXM and NBCSN makes the pick for the Eagles, and we've got some great guests for the Bucs and Giants as well. All good stuff.
