Looks pretty solid this year. There are a few rankings I disagree with but it appears the top 10 is going to be a combination of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Neymar, Bale, Sanchez, Aubameyang, Griezmann, Lewandowski, and Mahrez (!?).

Because its the Guardian they have to include a player that not a lot of people have heard of, and this year its Miguel Borja.

Pjanic at 70 screams too low to me, as does Alaba at 61 and Muller at 31.

Players who I think are too high? Mahrez, apparently. Vardy at 19, Di Maria at 43 (he's been shit for PSG this season). Renato Sanches at 51 (he is an incredible prospect but lets see him get into the Bayern team consistently first), and Aaron Ramsey...who probably shouldn't be on the list....

N'golo Kante is apparently the 3rd best midfielder in the world now. Better than players like Arturo Vidal, Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos, Busquets, Verratti, Pogba, Rakitic, etc.

This list is really bad.

It'd be Pulisic if anyone, at this point at least.

As for how far off he is, it's kind of a very perfect point of comparison that his teammate Ousmane Dembélé is #100 on the list He's a year+ older than Pulisic and has been more productive than him this year for sure (in top-line goals/assists type stats, at least, I dunno about advanced stuff)

Griezmann hasn't scored a goal in La Liga in 9 weeks, so I'm both happy to see him so high and annoyed that a player so high on the list seems to be unable to change a game by himself. In other words, I think the other top-10 players have an extra gear they can turn on when the team needs it. I haven't seen Griezmann find this extra magic in a while, and he sometimes disappears throughout a match.

The list is bad, but I don't think Kante is out of place at 16. He's been a huge reason for Chelsea's success this season, and Leicester has completely fallen apart without him.

Which is weird because generally, defensive players seem undervalued on this list and attacking ones overvalued. The highest ranked CB is 24th? There are 29 football players better than Pepe? Nonsense.

And how the hell do you leave Mousa Dembele off completely? He should be ahead of any non-Lloris Spurs.

And no, Schmeichel belongs nowhere near this list.
