Welp. NE finally came alive in the second half but Cam fumbles the game away.

McD also gets a goat for calling it & the run defense for getting gashed all game.

Another winnable game lost. At 2-5, it is officially the worst season under Belichick since his first season.

After the trade deadline, it could get a lot worse.

Cam Newton.

Fumble was the biggest play of the game, and unforgivable in how it unfolded. Ballcarriers allowing THAT tackle to strip them is a joke. That flat out can’t happen when you’re the featured player on offense against a good team in a close game. That’s why they call it ‘winning time.’

Run defense gets distant second billing in a growing trend.

Bill Belichick Nick Caserio, as always. Hope they can turn it around for the 2021 draft that this is all for.

Cam is terrible. The D is meh but dude. I want to trade everything and take a shot at Lawrence. We could definitely lose twice to the Jets if we set our minds to it.

Obviously Cam. Just atrocious awareness there.

This will be a blessing in disguise. If ever there were a season to really take the lumps and prepare it's this season. Trade some pieces and stockpile for the rebuild.

Cam, and the onside kick. There were other guys and plays that didn't work out, but that did it.

Harris seems like a keeper, so that's nice.

I was on record right away of hating the Cam signing.
He needs to be released or traded. He's not getting this team anywhere, he won't be on this team next year -- there's just no reason to keep him around at this point. He makes awful decisions. I'm sure part of it is that he is just shot as a runner and a passer, but his decision making has been subpar at its best.

Even getting a conditional 6th for him or something is a win.

Cam showed enough that another desperate team might be willing to give up something for him. But now the season is over in NE and Cam is clearly not in the team’s future. So BB damned well better be working the phones.

Who on earth is trading for Cam? He’s toast, that’s obvious.

No argument - bench or cut him. Playing him doesn't help this team meet any goals at this point - I'd argue it never did in the first place.

Someone has to be the QB. I suppose you could start Hoyer.

What contender needs a QB? ...let's see.
Saints no.. 49ers..no.. Seahawks..no..Bills..no..Steelers..no .Ravens..no.. Cards..no..Raiders..no..Titans..no.. Packers no..
The rest of the league is filled with teams tanking for the draft who would have no use for Cam on an expiring deal.
The one contender that might take a shot at Cam is the Bears and I'd say that is very debatable. If you want to trade Cam @Seels please name a contender that would take him.

I don’t think you will get anything for him but Dallas needs a QB and they are a contender in that division.

A QB like Cam isn’t exactly plug-and-play. I can’t imagine any team in Week 7-8 giving away anything of value for him.

I didn't think Cam was that bad this game. He found open receivers more often than last week, as low as a bar that was. His rushes were more timely as well. His fumble did away any good he had built up until that point.

It also looked like Harris (looked great) was gassed the last two drives. I wish they had used Burkhead more there.

This team has finally looked closer to the pre-Covid version. From the opt-outs to Cam's infection, the pandemic has really did a number on this team.

The defense coming out of the locker room in the second half and the first half offensive penalties had us playing catch up all game.

I know we don’t give game balls but if things had turned out differently we would be noting that Rex made a couple of big time situational effort plays to put them in position.

I don't think they'll get close to Lawrence or Fields. They'll get to 5/6 wins which will give them a good pick but nowhere near high enough for one of those 2.

Rex’s footwork to eek out the first down on that last drive was masterful. Made Cam’s vomiting on his shoes all the more atrocious.

Package Gilmore and/or Harry and/or Sony, with the pick.

I'd rather package Gilmore (for salary) with Harry for OBJ in the offseason (whenever OBj is eligible to be traded)
OBJ won't be healthy until the middle of next year at the earliest and he won't be himself until 2022. By then he will be 30 and might not be the same player. Playing devil's advocate do you really want a 30 year old OBJ who is a shell of himself playing for Pats in 2022.

Yeah, no one who even slightly needs a QB is trading you a top 2 pick for that package, and as of now it looks like two QB needy teams will be at those spots. Harry and Michel especially aren't really worth a bag of balls right now.

If you think that package will get it done,I want the stuff you're smoking. That's ridiculous and no team will accept a broken down running back and unproven wide receiver.

I assume you mean Sony and Harry? I would agree on the latter but not the former, unless he's got some Covid complications or something like that.

No. He's quite possibly the most overrated player in the NFL.

+1. Has anyone ever gotten more out of a few one handed catches?
Odell hasn't had a great season since 2016. That's four years ago. An eternity in NFL life. He's also had two really bad injuries since then. He's days of greatness are over. Plus, he's a psycho. He isn't an attractive target for any team in the NFL.

Cam. Cannot, under any circumstances, put that ball on the ground.

Cam. Even his throwaways are uncomfortable and dangerous.

Run defense. You had to know it was coming in this weather and they couldn’t do shit.

BB. Onside kick is ridiculous and even a surprise onside kick is near impossible under the rules implemented a few years back. His roster decisions ( not having any viable linebackers, not playing rookie tight ends or Uche / Jennings, JJ, etc.). are puzzling.

What he has been doing in the draft is not working and has not worked for years and frankly has put them in this position. One of his greatest strengths as a leader has been his adaptability, but for the past 4-5 years Bill the GM has not adapted either in drafting skill positions or in free agency. He doesn’t have Brady to bail him out and obviously no one to challenge him on personnel.

This is pretty much it.

Hated the onside kick at the time, but that was just immediate anger with the result. They've been reduced to trying everything at this point, so it was worth the gamble, and there's no certainty that Buffalo wouldn't have scored on the drive anyway.

It comes down to the finals plays. Where they were on the field used to be prime time for putting the ball in the hands of Burkhead or White. It's still what they should be doing, with maybe Harris mixed in
