Mac was horrible, especially in the second half.

Have almost never seen players quit as hard as Brown and Onwenu did on the last drive.

And beyond all that, I can handle all of this, but it's really hard to stomach the likelihood of Matt Patricia still on the sidelines next year.

The thing is, this team still has a chance. Winnable games left on the schedule. But man, tonight was rough.

Brown
Mac

Rham continues to shine. Meyers I just feel terrible for at this point. Defense was gassed early, but played fairly well against a very good team.

The whole O-line except maybe Andrews.
Mac Jones
Clock Management
Folk (you have to make that FG).

Edit- for sunshine... the D adjusted and played decent, all players plus coaching on that side was pretty good, I thought all the WRs played well, Rham was solid, ST outside Folk played well.

They found new and sometimes comically creative ways to fuck up all night.

The worst part is that we never got to see a reply of that bonkers Rham run.

Bill - as GM and HC. He said earlier in the year that the team’s struggles were on him and he’d own it. Inexcusable that he’s put this coaching staff together. They are not NFL caliber. Same with the roster. He’s the GOAT, but he is unable to keep up with the changes in the game without an elite NFL QB.

I think they're trying to find an elite NFL QB. You know they're kind of hard to come by.

I don't know who was on Judon, but the Bills better be giving him a game ball because he was a non-factor.
Both lines got dominated, Folk couldn't kick it 48 yards.
3rd down was definitely the goat for me

When the OL blocks, Mac can’t throw. When they don’t block, he panics. And either way it doesn’t matter because the play caller doesn’t know what he’s doing. Good combo!

At least Thornton looked relevant reeling in a pair of awful throws with a pair of nice catches.

Has a chance to do what exactly ? Finish at a 7 seed and lose 40-7 in the first round?

Goats:
Mac
Patricia
Bill for this coaching disaster

The OL should be fired into the moon. What a disgraceful game by a bunch of lazy slobs.

Mac. Bad. Very bad.

Patricia. Also very bad.

J Jones. Torched early when it mattered.

Judon. Back on the milk carton like he was at this time last year.

When 90% of the team underperforms I think you have to lay most of the blame on the coaching.
D gets a slight pass but really struggled to get off the field until the game was mostly out of hand but the offense was atrocious outside of one pass to a rookie DB.

Offensive line- A complete dumpster fire. And it’s rippling out to the entire team. Too many short possessions, defense on the field too much, starting field position usually bad, etc.

Coaching- Sloppy play, stupid penalties, bad clock management, and bad play calling continues to plague this team. The complete butchery of clock management and play calling after they finally got a big turnover at the end of the first half really hurt.

Mac- He wasn’t good tonight. Accuracy sucked, continues to make terrible decisions under pressure, and his lack of arm talent and athleticism are starting to look to me like they probably can’t be overcome.

Kirk Cousins, Tua, Jimmy G. I wouldn’t categorize them as ‘elite’ yet their teams are well coached and have GMs who have built teams around them to win in today’s NFL.

If anyone can convince them to wipe the slate clean and reset it’s Bill. But damn, that was ugly at times tonight.

Mac
OL
Judon (no real impact when they really needed him and the Buff Oline was thin)

As baffling and frustrating as the Patricia hire was it's even more baffling that he's got two fucking jobs and both of the units he's in charge of- while related- are horrifyingly bad.

Might be easier to list the players that didn't play terribly.
Marcus Jones
Uche
Duggar
Rham maybe? never mind, forgot the fumbles.
Godchaux?
I guess Palardy was ok.

Bit Bill loves his company. And hanging with friends is really what life’s all about.

He threw pretty well last week when they actually blocked

Yeah definitely Schooler, I should have put him on the list. Not McCourty, he made a couple plays but was very slow on others. And I have no idea how the receivers did without looking at the all-22. Lotsa plays where it seemed like no one was open, that's for sure.

Some, I saw a lot where they were, and to me, just all the good catches on bad throws gives them a passing grade.

You know this the game goat thread, right?
Heh, yes. Game goats: the entire offensive line, which was pure, unadulterated crap.

Mac didn't play well either.

Neither, really, did the defense, though it was better than it has been against the Bills recently, so yay.

Neither, really, did the special teams unit.

The coaches didn't cover themselves in glory either.

Lots of goats tonight.

McCarver's Mushy Mouth
With this coaching staff and a spate of injuries, Next Man Up and Do Your Job are dead in Foxboro.

- Rham had 2 fumbles, so BB goes to the bench for Kevin Harris, who immediately runs into a lineman's ass and is never seen again.
- Owenu gets moved around so that something called Conor McDermott can play tackle. McDermott whiffs on a cut block (on a slow-developing play, just like Brown last week) and nearly gets Mac killed.
- The D-line were pushed repeatedly an undermanned Buffalo O-line, but there's nobody to spell the base 3, so it just stays that way the whole game.
- Jalen Mills goes down, so Myles Bryant watches a scramble drill zip by him for a TD. Bryant also tried to give up more YAC to a Buffalo receiver who was completely down, but nearly scrambled to his feet to run some more.

Loved the nifty individual effort by Marcus Jones, the only bright spot in an otherwise exceedingly dull game.

Bill Belichick. His decision to hand the offense over to Patricia/Judge was malpractice when it happened and the performance this year validates that thought.
I hate to suggest this, but the only way to salvage Mac at this point might be to get O'Brien back as OC

It’s possible this is the culprit. Also, it’s possible the Oline is beyond repair for this season (which you can maybe blame BB for). Also, it’s possible that Mac has a lot of blame too for not running through his reads quickly or not throwing the ball away when necessary, or he’s running for his life always bc of the aforementioned Oline. One thing I do know unfortunately is that we as a group are among the least knowledgeable to diagnose the specific and most important reasons why the offense sucks. We’re all just engaged in fandom opinions from afar.

We can all agree the offense sucks but we are all going to differ on why or what is the most important reasons for their suck. None of us outside the building are equipped to hit the nail on the head.
