Points the Pats have given up in quarters 3 and 4 over the last 4 games:
MIA=0

Crazy!  You should start a thread about that.

Oh! So I have a quick request for someone with All 22, if you don't mind. I'm asking here since I don't think it's a grand enough request for the other thread:

There was a third down play in the first half (2nd quarter I believe, 3rd and 4 or 5), where Tannehill hit one of the secondary receivers  on the right side of the field for a 5 yard gain or so to gain the first. On the play, Chandler Jones appears to come from about 15 yards downfield in like 3 large strides to clock the guy. I went back and watched the play over, but I don't believe I saw Jones lined up anywhere in the front 7. Was Jones playing Safety? Deep LB dropping into zone? Nickel? The hell was that defense?

I have Jones dropping into coverage twice all game, the second of which came on the Ninkovich sack in the 4th quarter (Jones swapped out with Collins who rushed the paser).

Connolly had a rough game yesterday. I have Odrick beating him five times alone. He struggled last week as well but it was overshadowed by Solder's performance. Connolly is clearly banged up as it's a struggle for him to move laterally. Thought Kline did a solid job when he came in - no issues in pass protection. Flip side, both tackles played fairly well.  Wake clearly beat Vollmer once but otherwise no glaring issues. Solder had a few more negatives but solid. Most of the issues in pass protection were along the interior and then there were a few breakdowns in which the Dolphins overloaded the rush from one side and the protection failed to account for someone.

Siliga had a really impressive game. Not just against the run but he also made a few backside pursuit plays on short throws that stoodout. He plays quicker than you'd expect.

In last week's game on the Lafell fumble, either Connolly or Wendell got leveled from the blind side during the return (I thought it should have been a flag). But I couldn't tell from the replay if it was 63 or 62 from the angle. Anyone with all 22 access that can check it out? May well explain Connolly.

It was Wendell who was decleated on that one. Connolly has looked uncomfortable for a while now. He injured his ankle against Detriot on a run play which he pulled across the line and a defender from behind rolled up on his ankle.

I wasn't there yesterday but we have a pair in the front half of 216 and the section is ok. Not a ton of standing but not awful. Y brother has seats in 311 and its a morgue up there. If you do a fan reaction cam you'd think they were at a funeral. Most of them aren't even watching the game. It's weird in the sense the cheap seats are usually filled with the quote real fans.
I've got tix in 312 and this is not my experience. Lot of first-game fans, but standing and making noise on third down as they should be. Have never had it be a "morgue."

I thought the crowd was good but not as good as the Cincy or Denver games, but those were LOUD

I mean, I'm in the Putnam Club and most people were standing up and yelling on every third down until late in the game.

To be fair, he's the 5th CB. The real issue was that the Patriots ended up with him on man coverage with Mike Wallace. How did that happen?
Despite the poor matchup I actually thought the coverage on Wallace was pretty good; just a good throw and great catch.

I'm confused. Is the second half dominance not significant? Is it a fluke?

At the time of your post, this thread was in the top handful of threads on this board.

For FC, I took a look at the red zone D, which is much improved over recent weeks: http://soshcentral.com/nfl/film-study-nfl/defense-film-study-nfl/2014/12/19/anatomy-improvement-new-englands-red-zone-defense/

At the bye in Week 10, the New England Patriots rated as mediocre when defending inside their own 20-yard-line, ranking 19th in the NFL with 17 touchdowns allowed in 29 opportunities. In five games since the break, the defense has permitted just three touchdowns in 12 chances, catapulting the Patriots to ninth in the league.
