That last goal was too easy, but at least it made me feel better about the soft foul on the previous one (ie it has less impact on the outcome)

England have played well but that was awful defending on the last two goals.

I guess I am available for things to do at 4:55 and not at 6

kind of feels better to lose 4-0 than 1-0 or on pens

Going out in the Quarterfinals to England isn't a bad result at all for Ukraine, but giving up and getting crushed on these set pieces is a way to make that kind of exit embarrassing.

I’m sure Shevchenko is already pretty mad, but he’s going to go apeshit watching the video of the marking on these goals.

Did Chillwell run over Southgate's cat or something, he seems to be behind Trippier in the LB depth chart.

A Lost Time
If you keep racking up these clean sheets, then it turns out “annoyingly too conservative” is actually “the correct amount of conservative”.
Southgate going defensive vs Germany and attack minded vs Ukraine while inserting Sancho indicates tactical flexibility and an effort to adjust the team vs an opponent. That's a pretty good quality to have.

He was usually the style of the number 9 as a player, so maybe he will not mind too much?

You know it’s England’s day when even the hilarious Pickford goof passes by without consequences

England going to be sorry to take out their strikers when Ukraine gets 4 in 20 minutes

Ukraine did lose a CB in the first half to injury and then replaced him with an attacking player so that may have played a factor in the poor defensive effort.

They got much further then Russia, that’s what probably counts the most in Kyev

And they were playing with 3 at the back in the beginning to boot

Not just putting out a defensive lineup against Germany but putting in Grealish and cranking up the pressure around 70'.

I have a hard time thinking of 5 int'l managers I'd take over Southgate.

Zinchenko was the best player on the field in their last game but has been invisible today.

Its the football version of the mercy rule, pretty much happens in every blowout match.
