Really bad. They're painfully vanilla and think they're clever. I'm sure they're fine for an overnight job, but TSH needs to find a better replacement when T&R are on vacation.

Johnston... meh. Jones, kaufman, johnston, joe murray, rich keefe, they all sound the same to me. its as if they print out the same list of hotsportztakes and regurgitate them every 4 hours

That's who weei is rolling out on the weekend who are the worst of the worst.
They're lucky they have Christian Arcand on the weekends which is their most underrated program. Yet they give him a small timeslot

That's the under reported thing that's killing EEI, TSH uses the weekends to give newer or younger guys a shot (Johnston and Flynn, Bertrand and Gasper, Keefe does the Celtics Report, right?) and they also give Trupiano and Hardy their own show too. The good thing about this is when there are vacations, you slot J&S into the time frame and it chugs along. People are familiar with them, they get a chance to iron out the kinks on a weekend, they build up a rapport.
On EEI they have Arcand, who is good and nothing (and they barely give him a timeslot). I have no idea how Mustard and Johnson stay on the air, Sterns is a never-was and the less I hear from Jerry Thornton, the better. Buckley is cool, I like him because he loves baseball but EEI can't get a couple of hungry kids and throw them into the mix? They're like the Yankees of the mid-80s, leaning on Steve Kemp and Ed Whitson and Andy Hawkins and shit like that. Sports radio, like sports teams need to have a solid bench.

I think that you're right. In any event, Kaufman does a good job too.
Keefe is solid in TSH's surprisingly good fantasy football show on Sundays during the NFL season along with Mike Lockheart. But yeah. That's about it.
I haven't been a fan of Adam Jones since he took over for DA. They should have given the slot to Bertrand.

I was blown away that after turning on D&C at 6am the day after the big Minihane thing that of all the friggin' fill ins they could've possibly used I hear - Butch Stearns.
They must've had three times their normal audience tuning in to listen to any reaction and that's the guy they roll out.
Fuck they are clueless.

Hardy and Trenni are doing 2-6 and I'm enjoying it for the low key, January 2nd, agenda free show it is. Discussing sports, movies etc. I really Hardy since he knows his sports, plus has a bunch interests outside of Sports, like he earlier just ran off the 70's Best Picture winners based upon a tangent.
Trenni is solid as well.
The other thing I've noticed is, does every bench player at WEEI have to have a horrible Boston accent? It's been painful trying to switch back and forth.
It was odd though this week, The Sports Hub took all their weekend shows and split the hosts up like Flynn doing Gresh's role, Johnson doing mornings etc.
