Happy to share my 5 as well.

I was just thinking that The Athletic has become what si.com was for me a billion years ago: a clutter-free front page that lets me know what's going on in sports. With podcasts.

I got in for 50% off, I'd be happy to re-up at full price.

I'm a junkie I have subbed to Boston sports journal, the athletic, ESPN insider. And yet they athletic is what I load every morning.

If you have T-Mobile or Sprint you can get a free year subscription through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app today. It won't stack with an existing subscription, so you can't just add it on to what you already have, from what I can tell.

If there's a way to gift the free year of The Athletic, I have one available. DM me.

Looks like I have 6 total:

1 from T-Mobile for 12 months
5 from The Athletic for 30 days each

Nice article this morning on Jacoby Brissett's community engagement

It reminds me of something said during Game 1 of Celtics-Raptors: that Jaylen Brown's most enduring contributions will come outside of basketball. I'd put Brissett in that same category.

It was a smashing success. Not that Brissett was eager to take the credit. Heck, it took him several weeks just to finally agree to this interview.

“He didn’t even want to put his name on anything,” police chief Nate Osgood said. “We told him, ‘No, you gotta put your name on this and let the kids know you did this.’ He looked at me with that bushy beard and said, ‘Chief, I don’t need to do any of that. It doesn’t matter to me.’ ”

That is a terrific deal. Even at the regular rate, The Athletic is more than worth the price.

Does anyone know if the buck a month deal that Jeff Howe is discussing on his Twitter feed applies to people who already have that deal? I like the Athletic but I’m not terribly excited about the idea of paying full price when this deal runs out. And I can’t figure out whether this applies to current subscribers or not.

I have a 30 day pass available. If that works dm me your email.
Thanks, when I went to the site it asked me to log in using my Google credentials and I can see the articles in full, at least for now. So I'll ride with that for as long as I can.

Even at full subscription price, The Athletic costs less than what I used to pay to buy a daily copy of the Globe - in 1987. It is more than worth the money.
