The Raptors tried to choke it away - and Curry missed a wide open 3.

Congrats to the Raptors. I think this finals shows that you always take the chance to make a run when you can because you never know what will happen.
Yup. Get me some AD, pronto.

If I added right:

FVV from the start of the playoffs through g3 of eastern finals- 8/41 for 3
g4 of eastern finals through tonight- 30/57 for 3

he picked a good time to have the shooting streak of his life

Ainge is watching this going I gotta get AD. Get AD & the Celtics have a chance to do this next year. Don’t get AD & they likely won’t have a chance to win a title for years to come.

One more call for ESPN to lose the clownshow that is Breen, Van Gundy and Jackson and go with someone plus Doris Burke next year. She is so much better than those two has-beens at analysis and pretty much everything else.

Switching into offseason mode, the dubs have to be praying klay just has a sprain. Imagine him being out and kd opting IN? They'd be fucked for next season

Doesn’t mean he’s not f’d up.
When I tore my ACL I walked off the court and drove myself to the hospital. You can even run in a straight line, it’s when you try to make a lateral movement where it will just collapse.

That said, yes it does now seem like it may be something far less serious.
I don't think it is far less serious at all (per this SoSH doctor). After Klay was carried off the court he tried jogging on it then returned to shoot his FT's. I don't think he was ever given the Lachman Test prior to getting back on the floor. After Kerr saw him noticeably limping and flexing the knee he instructed for the foul to remove Klay from the game. It appears that this is when the doctors finally had time to perform the test and then immediately announced he was done for the game. That is NOT a good sign at all.

Trump isn't going to invite a team he thinks might turn him down, and I imagine a Canadian team would be under immense pressure to do just that.
I think it's pretty safe to say that no NBA team will be receiving an invitation from this president to visit The White House. Of course the all-white St. Louis Blues will certainly be chomping down on Big Macs sometime this fall.

Torn ACL for Klay. Jesus fvcking Christ. Had 30 points on 12 field goal attempts when he went down.

Kinda relieved they didn't have to play Game 7 now. Raptors played great and are a deserving champ, but seriously, fvck right off, hoops gods.

Steph dodged a major bullet not having to play game 7. He was next in line.

Crazy way to end the series, and potentially the entire run for the Warriors. Unreal.

The Warriors might go from shooting for three straight titles to the lottery. I don't think they have enough around Steph and Draymond to make the playoffs in the loaded west.

rmflaherty and georgeconstanza were spot on earlier and I was too flippant about Klay's injury.

That said, if Thompson heals on schedule the Warriors should be at full strength by next season's playoffs.

Dude, your boner is showing.

KD likely won't be picking up his option, but I'm guessing he'll stay with the Warriors on a multi-year max contract. Ditto Klay (much more certain about that). Estimated 12 months and 9 months recovery time respectively, which probably means they're fucked for next season, but who knows. If they can tread water with Steph, Draymond, (maybe) a healthier Boogie, and (maybe) Looney, and Klay and KD recover well, they become the low playoff seed from hell.

Two of the more durable stars in the NBA get two of the worst possible hoops injuries in consecutive games. Just ... wow.

In any case, I'm hella proud of this team and the fight they showed till the bitter end. Reminds me a lot of the end of 2016, actually, right down to the potential consolation prize of Kevin Durant.

Boogie's not coming back for the vet minimum, and Looney should fire his agent if he doesn't get huge money. Iggy will be a year older. I have to think Livingston is going to retire. If you have KD and Klay riding the pine on max deals next year, the Warriors are going to be hard-pressed to field a playoff-caliber team next year barring something miraculous happening. Steph will be seeing box-and-ones all year.

I think the more likely scenario is that they let KD walk, keep Klay, use KD's money to build a much better bench, and try to keep their heads above water until Klay is back.

Draymond's on an expiring deal, but given that he will be their second-best player if KD leaves and Klay is out, I can't see them trying to deal him now. That was a distinct possibility when the plan was to re-sign KD and Klay.

Will they make the playoffs with Steph, Draymond and Iggy? Will those 3 last a season? Can Steph do a Harden and go crazy on offense without any help whatsoever?

If you don’t make the playoffs, aren’t you even more fucked the next year when Draymond will be seeking the max? He will probably leave. And then you have Steph at 33, KD at 33 and Klay at 31 as your core.

I think they’re done. It was a hell of a run. Best team ever. Hats off.

Now fuck off. (half kidding)

It should be a different thread, but is this really true? They made five straight Finals and went 3-2 in the Finals, Jordan's Bulls made six Finals in eight seasons and won all six. Hard to compare eras as always but I'm going Bulls and maybe the Shaq/Kobe team that won three straight too.

They can give him a non-Bird raise to $6.3M. He has already said he's thinking about it. He loves GS, and with KD and Klay out, he'd get a ton of touches and a great opportunity to build up his value.

Looney should fire his agent if he doesn't get huge money.
Warriors have his Bird rights, so can match any offer. Kerr has called him "foundational," and he's their only core player under 29. I'll be surprised if they let him go.

Iggy will be a year older. I have to think Livingston is going to retire.
Agreed on these.

It'll be tough in the West. "Miraculous," no.

I think the more likely scenario is that they let KD walk, keep Klay, use KD's money to build a much better bench, and try to keep their heads above water until Klay is back.
Problem with that scenario is that letting KD walk frees up $0.00 with which to build a better bench. They'll only have the taxpayer MLE and vet min contracts either way. All signing KD does is add to the luxury tax bill, and these guys are printing money.

Draymond's on an expiring deal, but given that he will be their second-best player if KD leaves and Klay is out, I can't see them trying to deal him now. That was a distinct possibility when the plan was to re-sign KD and Klay.
Pretty sure that's still the plan. Fwiw, I don't see them trying to trade Draymond this offseason, either, but stranger things have happened.
