The super high IQ, team player brand of basketball?
You could also describe it as moving screen/nail people in the balls/constant ref bitching brand of basketball.

I've found myself really bored with the NBA the last few weeks or so. It seems like everyone is just so obsessed with narrative and media talking points to really focus on the game.

Here we go!! Is it me or does this feel longer than the Bruins 11-day lay-off?

I’ve got me some Raptors at +245 for the series. Home court, Kawhi, and the return of Boogie make this another real good price on Toronto.

As for tonight I have no idea who wins this game. I expect both teams to push tempo prior to the series slowing down once the games become more matchup oriented and both teams know what the other is doing even before they do.

Regulation Final:

Oakland 112
Canada 112

OVER 213.5 is my on ticket as well as the series tonight.

In terms of game, he's like an unholy combo of early Magic and early Rodman. As someone who rooted for Cs in the '80s, I could see how one could find that annoying...

Will be interesting to see who the Ws start at C (assuming a 1-4 of Splash Bros + Dre/Dray). My guess is they go big for at least the first 4-5 minutes (or as long as Gasol is on the floor), but going big could mean either Bogie or Boogie. Either way, I'd guess Looney gets most of the total center minutes, as he's been rock solid all playoffs long.

So many interesting matchups / chess moves...

It doesn't really matter who the Warriors start at center because they rotate guys through that spot so much during the game. Hell, Kerr started Damian Jones at center in Game 3 against Portland, an experiment mercifully abandoned after about 3 minutes.

What will be more interesting to see is who closes the game at center. And that will likely be Looney until Durant comes back and they can roll out the Hamptons 5 again.

To me, this series is going to turn on how much the Warriors can slow Kawhi with some combo of Iguodala, Thompson and, if he returns, Durant. On the other side, it will be if VanVleet can stay with a re-weaponized Steph Curry for a whole game and, to a lesser degree, how Toronto checks Durant if he returns

I am with coremiler - its how they finish that matters. I would be shocked if Boogie gets much more than cursory run. They see the same numbers that we do that show he is a net negative for the Warriors.

Golden State will win this in 4 or 5. This GS team is nothing like a Milwaukee team with one stud and the rest of the team just overwhelmed by the moment. All the respect in the world to Toronto to get this far, they have had a great season, but Golden State can't be beaten by Toronto. (or anyone in the east, for that matter)

Kawhi can't stop and defend everyone, like he put a clamp on Giannis. That's the difference between GS and Milwaukee.

My gut instinct is to pick the Warriors in a short series just based on the eye test with everything we've seen for the past five years, including this postseason. However, the numbers suggest it's much more close, maybe even favoring Toronto given that they have home court and Durant is either going to be out or playing at a diminished capacity. Tentatively saying this is going 6 or 7 games with Golden State pulling it out in the end.

Totally. If I’m the dubs, I feel better about Looney vs Gasol than Boogie with how he’s looked defending. I’m assuming it’ll be mainly Iggy on Kawhi, with some Dray and Klay mixed in. I’d want Dray doing what he does better than anyone else in the league- help D, and can’t do much of that while trying to check Kawhi, so hope that he’ll be able to gamble off Siakam. Steph on Green or FVV so he can conserve energy. Looney on Gasol. Or Looney on Siakam, Dray on Gasol so he can bust up the Kawhi/Gasol PnRs?

As long as KD’s is out, I think we’ll see a some of Kawhi on Steph, at least in the 4th, with him opening on Dray and switching on the PnR. But KD changes everything. How do the raptors counter the Hamptons Five? Makes playing Gasol and Ibaka tough, so go small with Siakam at the 5, Kawhi on KD, Lowry on Iggy, Green on Klay, FVV on Steph? Or Lowry on Steph and Ibaka on Iggy... So many possibilities.

So tempted to take Green over 6.5 points.

Also, i wish there were offensive rebound props.

That travel by Klay was breathtaking.
LOL, it's what we love about the NBA.

GS double teaming Kawhi on every touch, but he's giving up the ball. So far, Gasol has been Horford-like in being the focal point of the Raptors offense.

I haven’t seen an NBA game this year but I’m eating a hotel bar and the game is on. My observation: Holy shit, they take a lot of 3’s these days.

Also, get off my lawn!

It’s definitely chanted from a game where you moved the ball around until you found someone with good position inside to a game where you move the ball around until you find someone with an open three. There’s zero doubt about that.

Siakam’s decisiveness has killed GS; he’s been so aggressive when he’s gotten the chance to score.

Can Steph just stick to shooting 3s? Hate watching all the damn flailing he does on basic 2 pt shots

This has been a fascinating game so far; Toronto has controlled the pace and done a great job containing Curry. Someone else for GS is going to have to step up big. Toronto’s depths and bench scoring has been huge.

he's on pace for about 35 points and 70% true shooting
