He is a guy whom you let beat you if he can. That's just one of those things teams cannot gameplan for. The Bucks are hitting 47.1% from three. Toronto is hitting at 27.3% from deep...ugh
It’s a make or miss league but one team is crisp and playing with a high energy level while the other seems uncertain and sluggish. When the Bucks are firing on all cylinders like this you aren’t beating them.
I mean, its just one meeting. He probably has groupchat with Michael Winger and Lawrence Frank already.

It really is. The Bucks are a tempo team and night games have greater pace. The Bucks were 5-7 this year in day games.....that isn’t random for their style of play. This 3Q is destroying my Under which was in good shape at the half.
Was just about to post the same thing. We looked like dogshit, but maybe the Bucks are better than our best anyways.
I don't feel any better about the Celts crappy performance, (losing 2 at home!) but the Bucks dominance tonight puts a little different spin on it.
They were the best team all year. Favorites might be a stretch just because we've seen the Warriors ceiling, but it shouldn't be a surprise if the Bucks do win it all this year.
Toss out the game played at 12 PM local time, the Bucks are 10-0 in the playoffs with an average margin of victory of 19. Even with the blowout loss included, the Bucks are +15.3 per game.
Last night the shortest guy the Bucks started was Middleton, at 6' 8". It must be easier to clog the middle when your average player on the floor stands 6' 10".
By contrast, as others have posted, the Celtics seemed a bit short this year. I know, there was the injury bug among the big men, but Brad still seemed to favor short lineups.

Bledsoe is 6'1", but plays a bit larger because of his width/strength. But your point stands.
Coach Bud's adjustment in Game 2 (Mirotic in/Brown out) with three frontcourt players all larger than the Celtics 5 (Horford) helped the Bucks control the defensive paint. While the Celts/Bucks series will probably be remembered as a "Kyrie fail", there was more to it than that.

Weird. I looked earlier this morning and ESPN had Ilyasova as a starter last night in place of Bledsoe. That has since been fixed. Should have realized that didn't make sense, as that leaves them without a point guard. My bad.
But still: Milwaukee does have a lot of length, and they've really been able to leverage that in the playoffs. I think it'll be interesting to see how Golden State adjusts to it (assuming Durant is still out, and those two are in the finals, which is looking probable).

Aside from the starting unit error Bledsoe DOES have a 6-8 wingspan and they are the longest team in the playoffs for sure (and I think the entire league). For years many have mocked draft analysts who harp upon length, athleticism and wingspan of raw players......but this is the primary reason why the Bucks are the #1 defensive team in the league and why they were constructed in this manner.
I think it's remarkable that Brook Lopez, who has always been a solid player, was left for dead after a down season with a trash Lakers squad. Milwaukee is a perfect situation for him.
Plus Giannis is probably the greater basketball force in the world. That helps.
Casual NBA fans are known for calling veteran players finished or “toast” in their early 30’s after spending a couple years in oblivion (not referring to you). Smart NBA execs and scouts don’t fall for that trap.
It wasn't even a down season really. His numbers were almost the same as they were this season. He ticked up in 3 point%, likely as a result of getting more open shots, but was the same player with the Lakers last season outside of that.
It was just a completely stupid move to let him go and sign JaVale McGee instead.
One thing the Bucks do is give up a lot of open 3 looks. Neither Toronto or the Celtics have been able to take advantage, but I think GS might.
This is a great point. Imagine if the Celtics had acquired George Hill at some point in the past couple of years. Now imagine if they had acquired Thon Maker. Many NBA execs understand the difference between competence and potential.
Meh. Sometimes the player really is toast and NBA execs think they can get back some of their old magic and they don't. Veterans abilityto help is at times as difficult to gauge as drafting college kids
And George Hill, who is as savvy a veteran as you will find, is in undeniable decline. That said he has had a good playoff run because he has taken advantage of opponents understandable focus on slowing Giannis and trying to stop Middleton, Lopez and Mirotic.
Speaking of Hill, I loved the Hill, Bledsoe, Brogdon, Mrotic and Giannis lineup Bud ran out there the other night. The ball movement was beautiful.

Meanwhile, Draymond is fully weaponized. The ESPN announcing team is pretty horrible but they are spot on that he is keeping the Warriors in the game (and doing a lot in the series).
This game is going to be close by the end. Blazers need to keep pushing.
The Warriors are much more fun to watch without KD. If KD and Kyrie team up in New York, they will drive first the fans, then their teammates, and finally the other crazy. BallhogzRus.
The Warriors small line-up got the Blazers again - especially when Leonard came back to earth. I wonder if Stotts goes smaller down the stretch. Kerr will try to counter with Bell & Looney again with Iguodala hobbled but Bell isn't the same player as the other night.
You and every NBA fan are saying the same thing. KD's a great player, but the Warriors offense tends to rely on his ISOs way too much when he's in the game. They're once again reminding us of the beautiful basketball they used to play on both ends of the court back in the day.
