Ok here’s more this time in favor of the Warriors

Games Durant plays & Curry doesn't:
28-18 Straight-Up
18-28 Against The Spread

Games Curry plays & Durant doesn't:
30-4 Straight-Up
20-11-3 Against The Spread

61% wins w/Durant
88% w/Curry (even better than 78% when both play)

"Against Boston, you can go down 1-0 and still be fine," Antetokounmpo said at practice Tuesday. "But against Toronto, it's hard to be in that spot when you lose the first game in your home."
ow.

Golden State seems to be immediately doubling Kanter in the post, but Portland has made them pay by having Harkless/Aminu cut to the hoop for easy baskets. I don’t like that strategy by GS.

Does Kerr ever even stand up? Compared to Brad up and calling a play on almost every possession? To me, that just shows how valuable continuity is and how far away the Celtics were

Splash Brothers handling their business.
Warriors now 18-1 in Game One in the Kerr era (OKC 2016 the one exception). That’s pretty textbook handling of one’s business.

Game was lost for Portland at the start of the 4th — 6 point Warriors lead, with no KD, Steph, Draymond or Looney for five full minutes; and Cook, Bell and Swedish Larry in their stead. Warriors push the lead from 6 to 12.

Strength in Numbers returning for the Ws when they need it most. Splash Bros outscoring Dame and CJ 62-36 helps too, though obviously that won’t last.

This is all incorrect. The game was won once Jonas Jerebko checked in. All the Swedish Larry Bird does is make his teams better.

These are the tales of two coaches......one growing up in the college game and the other in the NBA game. Not saying one is right or the other wrong it’s just different styles in how to go about leading based on their background.

It's a dumb thing to say no matter what. It's all hindsight. Did he have a similar quote after losing Game 1 last year? I'm guessing no.
Giannis has spoken brutally honest to the media in the past and later apologized citing the cultural differences in the US compared to that of Greece where political correctness is not a thing. I don’t even know if I’d call what he said “dumb” when these were his true feelings which were also proven to be accurate......I’d much prefer hearing this rather than “interview speak” where a players agent has actually brought in trained professionals to coach them on responses.

Yeah his comment itself is anodyne - all he's really saying is "I think Toronto is better than Boston." And is there really any argument he's wrong? The only reason this even got so much attention is because the media is desperate for players to say anything even remotely controversial, so this turns into Giannis "throwing shade" at Boston or whatever.

I miss the days of brutal honesty by athletes and wish we had more of it. Anyone who has a problem with that statement, the problem isn't Giannis, it's their own oversensitivity.

Talking trash is still widely practiced in the US last I checked.

Let's not invoke some nonsense like political correctness here.

Compared to the average Greek's attitude toward things in general, this was child's play.

Regarding Kerr's coaching style, he and Stevens aren't too different. The former isn't on his feet as much simply because the guy has a well documented problem with his back.

Toronto getting one of the best games Lowry is ever going to play and still losing isn’t a great sign. Milwaukee got a really good game for Brogdan which is a great sign for them.

???? We're just going to ignore Lopez going vintage Ray Allen?

I'm rooting for the bucks because i really think they can win a game against the warriors but the raptors are going to be a tough out.

add in Lopez's 4 blocks, Milwaukee controlled the paint in Game 1.

the Bucks owned Gasol/Ibaka

You can accept Brook Lopez going off once in a while, but Mirotic was getting everywhere he wanted too. Milwaukee has a tough frontcourt to contend with but Toronto should technically have the tools to do this. I don't think Ibaka was the problem though, he barely played.

So if the Bucks do manage to get to the Finals and beat the West does that change the 2018 - 19 Boston Celtics post-mortem in people's minds?
